With the recent announcement that halo 5 will not have FF or SpOps, do you think that 343 has some kind of offline mode for those of us who enjoy PvE? I’m really hoping this is the case. Also, what are the thoughts on the removal of these game modes?
Warzone is essentially Firefight with PVP, so I kinda think of it as a replacement.
It would be nice if you could hop into Warzone offline by yourself to battle the AI and bosses.
If I ever want to just do pve I’d just load up campaign. But adding firefight eventually would be nice.
I will not stand here and let the fabrics of Halo be ripped apart. I will make a stand and place this flag here and proudly announce that the professionals are taking over and we own everything.
It would be nice to get another mode of some sort into the game. It will be the first game since ODST, to not have an alternate mode. This is why I think everyone is so worried about it. It seems as if they are taking things away from the game. But I think the campaign and multiplayer experience will only benefit from not having another mode. More time and resources can be put in place to develop these core experiences and result in a better product. Let’s just hope coop campaign isn’t a lag fest like in previous titles.
I guess we have to get used to losing player freedom with the push developers have for online-only games.
Using cloud technology as a crutch for poor hardware pays off until you start factoring in latency, of wich you will never completely avoid with remote services.
We are getting less and less for our money these days, now we have to be online just to play any kind of multiplayer.
At this point, it seems as if Halo 5 offers very little for those without a stable internet connection.
This might not be a problem for the majority of players but there are a lot of people who are at the mercy of poor internet infrastructure controlled by greedy companies.
I’m thinking we’ll eventually see the second mission that was featured in GI.

That’s true. Whether some feel it isn’t it really doesn’t matter now. They don’t have the time to create either at the moment so people need to move on.
This is stuff we need to worry about post-launch.

Warzone is great…unless your internet is down or there is no one to play with at that time.
Well at least you can play it in customs…oh wait.
Well at least you can do some co-op campaign with your buddy next to you…oh wait
Well at least you can do some story driven SPOPS…oh wait

While that sucks for some I’m sure there are plenty that are like me that would simply play the campaign alone if the Internet were down. Just because splitscreen is out of campaign doesn’t mean the campaign isn’t playable.
There is also custom games to tide one over for offline modes. Not like you and a buddy can’t play splitscreen and play Race or those platformer gametypes. Or heck you could just go Forge a map on the Forge map we have already seen in the Beta. (or in the others that will likely be in the full game)
Keep in mind that is only if the Internet is out to. Still plenty of content to keep one busy.
warzone seems really good. Spartan ops and Firefight weren’t that good imo. Besides in ODST firefight was super fun. I’m glad they got rid of em.
I hated Spartan Ops to be honest, I’m glad its not back.
Other than the cutscenes/story it provided I found the missions very lackluster and boring.
Firefight was really cool when it came out, but I prefer something like Horde Mode. If they added points or money to FF and the ability to build a turret, put up some kind of trip mine, etc, I would find FF a lot more fun.

Warzone is literally nothing like firefight.
There are NPCs, and the similarities end there.
Saying warzone is practically firefight is like saying campaign is practically firefight.
I think that 343 should just include something for us who just want a cool down single player thing
No. You’re getting campaign, multiplayer and theater. That’s it. Settle in and enjoy.
Invasion might not be in halo 5 but its possible there could be a mode that pits spartans vs elites. The mysterious Anvil Initiative has been the talk of the town as of late. So it may be possible that something is being kept in the dark.
Or atleast warzone in custom games?? Confirmed not in but still.

You will be amazed at what games are like in 5,10 or 15 years. We are not getting less. And as more and more of the world moves into the digital age…The reasoning behind this argument will become less and less viable.

Seriously I just want firefight. I got over it when it wasn’t in Halo 4 even though I didn’t like Spartan Ops that much. I got over it when Odst was ported to the MCC without firefight. Now I know damn well I’m not the only person who’s asked for firefight for over a year now, so I don’t see why they don’t want to add it in with Halo 5. I don’t have my 360 anymore, so I have no way of playing firefight. And when backwards compatibility comes along I refuse to go back to 30 fps halo, that’s just too big of an adjustment after the MCC has spoiled me. But anyways I really would like to know what 343 has against firefight even though there’s a large portion of their fan base who enjoyed it.

Dude why you keep posting this in every thread that is even near the topic elites? The anvil initiative is just about Halo online and not Halo 5.
Elites are confirmed not playable, so just stop getting other peoples hopes up
