So the Boltshot does appear to have shotgun-like capabilities, though it doesn’t seem too powerful. I have yet to see anyone come close to getting a kill with the shotgun part of it. There were some people earlier asking for the Mauler to return as a secondary. Would you still want this? I think it’d be great. Besides, we’re supposed to get a ton more secondaries. And the Mauler is weak enough that when single-wielded, is only good for finishing off someone during a fight. Thoughts?

Yeah, but the problem is it’s like the Splaser, once you charge it up, it goes off, you can’t just hold it down. It’s very difficult to use properly.
Honestly, no. It’s not a good gun on its own with a very limited range. Boltshot without it would just be a pistol without a scope(as far as I know. Haven’t seen someone scope with it yet). This puts the 2 together giving the Boltshot a dual function, while allowing the “mauler function” to be more powerful due to its larger ammo cost.
If the Mauler does show up later, I won’t mind, but it needs to be more than what it is then. Otherwise, it would be a very weak secondary that I won’t see myself using.
The bolt shot seems like a useful weapon if you can time it right. It can one sot up close, but it charges kind of like the laser does. The hard put is going to be charging it under pressure when someone is up in your face.

LOL. Do you want it to kill them AND kill them again after they spawn?
Fusing the Mauler with the Boltshot actually makes it useful, I’ll miss the Mauler but this is a logical change.
The blast needs to be user controlled on release though, or just add some range

Just because the Brutes aren’t here don’t mean the Infinity can’t train with their weapons in case we see them again. And I’m sure the Elites found plenty of Brute weapons after the war.

I think the boltshot is a great debut … it seems like GOW standard pistol + Maule capability

Then why are no other Brute weapons confirmed to be in the game? Just the Grav Hammer?

That doesn’t mean there won’t be any more. There should be many weapons returning, wouldn’t be surprised to see a spiker, mauler, or brute shot in there somewhere.
Once again, like the SMG, since there is no dual-wielding in this game, it renders the Mauler pointless. The only advantage it has over the shotgun now is a quick reload. Not nearly enough reason to keep it.

That’s the reason it would serve as a secondary. Not used as your main weapon, but can still prove useful in certain situations and to finish off wounded enemies.

And AGAIN, not to be rude, but WHY? Any other weapon they have confirmed right now would be a better secondary than the Mauler just because they wouldn’t be so limited in use as the Mauler is. You need to think tactically, my dear man!
