Mine was Rumble Rockets on Foundation. I did poorly and had lots of fun firing off a few rockets before getting blown to pieces.
Team Slayer on Ascension and my life changed forever.
Terminal FFA…
Long story inbound…
After months and months of playing split-screen and occasionally system link it was one of the best moments in my life. My buddy got Halo 2 the day it launched and we would play 4 player split-screen. Which now that I look at it was probably my favorite time I’ve ever had in gaming history. When we finally upgraded our terrible dial-up internet to DSL(still terrible but capable of playing XBL) it took me a while to get XBL set up. I probably spent a full day trying to figure out what needed to be done to get XBL working. I couldn’t figure it out so I stopped caring then on and off I would try to get live working maybe a couple times a week for about a month. I was really terrible with computers back then so I had not the slightest clue of what to do.
One day I was out and about doing things outside. I don’t think I had a cell phone back then(pretty much the only person I know that didn’t have a cell phone). When I got home my brother and one of my buddies were playing split-screen FFA online. My brother managed to get XBL working. I was pumped beyond belief. I watched them finish their game and then my buddy let me see the controller. I was so bad but I didn’t even care. This XBL thing was about to control my very existence. That was back in the day when sharing was still a thing. We would pass the controllers around and play all night. The good part was we had xbox live working and it was awesome. The bad part is me and my brother would become so much better than all of our other friends making split-screen game nights a thing of the past. I had to take the good with the bad. To the day I’m the only one that even still plays Halo. I bought the Halo 4 edition xbox and 2 copies of Halo 4 in hopes of my brother wanting to play system link and we might have played about 30 matches together if that. We glitched on Halo 2 system link with my new 360s more than we played Halo 2.
I’m sorry for the long post. I just like to show my love and dedication to Halo 2. I really wish we could get a proper remake. I want to make new memories. I know they wouldn’t be as good but that doesn’t matter. I miss Halo 2…
I think we all miss this game. My favorite of the series. The first game I played on XBL and the game I have the most fond memories of playing.
A proper remake would be incredible.
And if you there are people out there who never played H2 online I think theyre due an education.
(Not saying Id school anyone at this game… Once again Im really pretty bad at it…)
team slayer on ivory tower, running around smg/plasma rifling people
First time I ever played the game was a system link with a bunch of coast gaurd people well older than myself on Headlong and I went for the SMG/Needler combo which of course did very little against guys who knew the Battle Rifle was a thing.
I’m not sure how anyone remember that far back because for me I remember the original xbox live, just jumping in there while enjoying every minute.
It was FFA on midship on my bro xbox had such a great time.
Day after Christmas 2004! I looked up my old gamertag and found the game.

I wasn’t too great.
It was my first Halo Multiplayer game ever. It was Rumble Pit, Slayer on Midship. That was the moment I realized the Energy Sword was very OP. I ended up with 25 kills and around 2 deaths, and of those 25 kills, 20 or so of them were the Energy Sword. The next highest kill was around 12.
Rumble pit FFA on foundation. Got third I think.
I remember my first day of getting xbox live back when it came out on mech assault. I do remember my first day of playing H2 as well. Played Team Training all day long haha
Team Duels on Lockout (: Red Team, final score 50 - 42
I wish I was able to play Halo 2 LIVE. It sounds like it had the funnest multiplayer. Simple yet chaotic. If they make H2A, then I would absolutely love for 343 to just put a fresh coat of paint on multiplayer and include that. Actually I’d pay just to let them bring up the Xbox servers. Were you able to play 2 LIVE on 360?
it was FFA or multi-team on reflection, i was 8 at the time so i don’t remember too well, obv i died a lot

Good ol Lockout. Not only my favorite Halo Multiplayer map in the series but probably my favorite multiplayer map in any FPS.

Remember early multiplayer when dual pistol was OP? On Ivory Tower/Reflection I would quickly grab the two in either side of the lower lift halls and away I went… Good times
I tried to make my gamer tag “SMG” but it was taken and I defaulted myself with “ChummySMG”. Looks and sounds a lot like a gooy, dripping -Yoink- ridden smg. I was fine with that
I don’t remember my first matchmade game but I do remember getting an 8 man killtacular in zanzabar BTB CTF.
