Do you honestly trust 343 after what they did with MCC and what they continue to do daily by butchering this franchise? I personally do not want them touching Halo 3 at all. Just want to hear some opinions.
Yes and no. I still play Halo 3 and it’s probably my favorite Halo, but I don’t know if it’s a good idea to remaster it. Even if they would do it right, it would just divide MCC players and Halo 3: Anniversary players, unless they add it to MCC which I don’t think would happen. Also, a lot of people have adapted to a faster style of gameplay which makes me wonder if it would be a success or at least would it have a sustaining playerbase.

Absolutely. I won’t get it, but I want it. Look at how Halo CEA was handled. It was fantastic. Do that with Halo 3, add a few easter eggs and maybe a little bit of multiplayer and you’re golden. MCC was a daunting task, bridging games that spanned a generation (and two consoles) onto one interface on a new console. Good luck with that. One game? Sure could be handled.
Yes
Absolutely!
Yes because Halo 5 sucked.
Yes please, it’s arguably the best Halo game.
Don’t get me wrong, Halo 5 is far from my favorite Halo game, but it has redeeming qualities (personally, I love the mechanics). The only truly unforgivable things are the campaign and the microtransactions (which, unlike the campaign, one can at least ignore). I think Halo 4 has a great campaign, however, so at least it’s clear that 343 has the capacity to up their game.
That said, I think that they could pull of a Halo 3: Anniversary. I know that this is a nearly blasphemous thing to suggest, but I would be interested to see 343 entirely remake Halo 3 (same campaign, same multiplayer maps, same forge mode) with their fast-paced and smoother mechanics. Whether that would majorly throw off the campaign balance-wise, I don’t know, but I think if it were possible, it would be kind of cool.
No. Halo 3 is my favorite game of all time, for better or worse, but a graphic overhaul isn’t what I want.
- Halo 3 is already on the Xbox One.
- If 343i fixed the kinks and allowed the transfer of 360 maps, I wouldn’t even think about buying an anniversary edition.
- Halo 3 looks fine on the MCC. Amazing? No, but the overhaul won’t be as dramatic as the previous remasters.
Look Halo 2 Anniversary is astounding. The MCC is not. I want them to do Halo 3 because the game deserves the treatment
Not really. It would be cool but the “remastered” trend is becoming old. I’d rather wait and see a Remastered Anniversary Edition down the road
Yes! Definitely!
Yes.
I would love a nice little re-skinning, making everything look all nice and shiny but nothing else.
Good point… I don’t know. That’s a tough one. I wasn’t into Halo 3 as much as the others but I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing it with the 343 “touch up”.
100% it would be all I ever play
I’ve watched a really interesting video where this Youtuber goes into detail about why Halo 3A would benefit Halo 6. I think the feedback from Halo 4 really influenced the feel for Halo 5 . Halo 5 undeniably has a pair of balls to take the gameplay and put a modern, but still classic spin on it. With that being said, the success and rebirth of Doom, Overwatch, and the well designed shooter does seem to be making a comeback. If Halo 3 is made well and is a success, then that would influence 343’s design process for 6. Just think about how good a Halo game would be when you have 343’s experience from Halo 5 looking through a Halo 3 lens. Like Doom, I think Halo needs to find its simplicity again, while being able to have those modern edges that makes people say “Oh!.”
Halo 3 is my favorite and 343 did a great job with the visual overhaul and Soundtrack for Halo 2A. Halo 3A isn’t just a good idea to make money, but it could serve, with the right marketing, as a wonderful feedback station that looks at what the old school and new school Halo players really want or prefer.
Yes and no, I feel like the game is perfect and still looks good the way it is. Who knows how it would turn out when it gets butchered.
They have released that they are going to make a Halo 3 anniversery.
Kinda… The only thing I don’t like is the idea that they will Halo 4/5-ify it.
Leave the models as they are and the SFX! Halo 3 was perfect the way it was.
Oh and the bugs… Goodness the bugs!
