I want to know if I need Xbox gold to play spartan ops single player because I payed halo 4 with my cousin and he had Xbox live free and he could play it but when I play on my Xbox it says I need gold and I don’t have it (yet) is that some kind of glitch or do I have to wait until I get gold?
yeas, you do need gold, But if you bought halo 4, New copy n’ all, you get a 14 day trial to xbox gold included in the box… Otherwise you’ll hafta buy it,

That’s probably the thing that stinks most about Spartan Ops; that you need Gold to play it. That you need to be hooked up to Xbox Live at all to play it.
Anybody who bought Halo 4 without the means to even connect their Xbox 360 to the internet must have felt truly ripped off. That’s what was great about Halo 3:ODST and Halo:Reach; you had an alternative in the form of Firefight if you couldn’t play the competitive multiplayer over Xbox Live.
Plus, firefight was just better, imo. But yes, gold is needed (god knows why) for Spartan Ops

It was needed when they were slowly releasing Spartan Ops over time… but now it shouldn’t be required.
Yes you will which is a real downer as when it came to Christmas when I got the game I had to last on any trials I had which only lasted me around a month because friends helped me.
Understandable if 6-10 was but 1-5 was a big let down them requiring Gold as well.
