Do you like the new spartan look?

I think the new spartans look ok, the helmets look cool but kinda makes me wonder how spartans can see through some of them (little monitor screen inside maybe). I also find it neat you have multi-colored visors though thought they would have a more custom color thing for the visors like the armor.

But my thoughts my not be important, anyways what do you think of the new spartan looks? Do they look better than past halo spartans or are they a little boring or too whierd?

Personally I only think Fotus is really bold. Hate the new body frame of the Spartans too they look wimpy.

Also why aren’t all the vital areas of a Spartans stomach / abdomen protected?!

Gut-shot me plz?!?!

like the new Visor colours though… its abourt time

I like the over all armor, I just feel the helmet’s need work. Recon for example looking at it from the side, I swear the person wearing that recon has like a bump on the head or something.

I really like it, now they actually look like super soldiers.

Ever heard of shields?

The “Forward Unto Dawn/The Package” Spartan armor is still my all around favorite. Appropriately tanky and well covered.

The H4 Spartans…ehh. It’ll take a little getting used to but I suppose they aren’t too bad.

That kinda snucks. Recon is a favorite old helmet of myn. Well theres new helmets maybe its time to look in other fields for a awsome one. Kinda agree with the very second post seems kinda like some important parts need some armor but none the less the armor is cool still.

It’s 50/50 for me. There are some armour sets that I like, but some I really don’t like. Although that could be said about Halo 3 and Reach, to be honest. There’s always going to be armour sets that I don’t like too much.

I will say however that females look too skinny for Spartans. Reach got the female looks right, in my opinion.

giggity? Lol. Well that solves my question about if the female models look different.

I think the spartan IV’s look very… strange, not much like spartans really. They are oddly shaped is certain areas and just do not look as fully armored as a real spartan.

I like the way Reach’s spartans looked, minus all the grit of that game, and some of the stupid armor combos people would wear. In general the idea was a LOT better. They look tankish, kinda like MC does in the campaign, his armor design is nice and full in the front but on the back it’s just like the spartan IV’s… open in the middle and has the “fins” oddly placed… looks a bit off. Just my two cents anyway.

At least on Reach when you sprint it "actually looks and feels like you sprinting and not just walking fast like it is in halo 4. like you spartan looks alive and not just an avatar in reach but it halo 4 its more noticeable that the look and shape of the spartans is by far ridiculous

Meh, I don’t really like the armour changes/retcon. The ‘High-bulk-tech’ look from 3 and Reach really worked well. It was higher tech than Marines and ODST, but still clearly in keeping with the Halo Human style.

Now they just look like generic ‘cyborg soldier’ armour sets. Barely any of the sets actually look distinct, except for a few helmets. In Reach, you could instantly tell which set was which, even with shoulders, chest and the rest. Now it’s a case of ‘Oh, that’s generic armour piece…number, uh…something? I dunno’.

My only real gripe with 4, to be honest. The Human and Covenant armour changes just don’t do it for me. Especially after the solid, consistent designs from CE all the way through to Reach. I know that 343 are trying to do there own thing, but why did they have to completely retcon the visuals?

I like a few of the armor sets, the more traditional/functional looking ones. Recruit and Air Assault are the only helmets I really like. Overall I still think the new armour looks too much like anime characters.

The under-suit is bullet proof. It’s made of a titanium composite. Even without shields it can take shots, as seen in The Cole Protocol, and that was only Mk. IV.

I personally hated most of the helmets when they were being shown early on. To me they looked like discarded anime mech designs. But since the game has come out in now understand they are meant to have a Forerunner feel. So u don’t mind them as much.

That said, I too agree that they look too lean. The female model looks as if she has bench pressed so much that the breasts have turned into pure muscle. And I don’t like how the under suit is the same color as the armor. It looks like a five year old painted it. And because of it the color on the armor pieces don’t pop as well as in past Halo games.

Don’t like them, it’s like their only influences were Michael Bay’s Transformers and Crysis.
They don’t look Halo… The Recruit does I suppose but yeah, the rest

I like the new armor, even though I have to admit it doesn’t have the same “spartan” look to it, it’s still cool
I like most of the helmets, some pretty cool looking ones, ugly ones, and “WTF” ones! XD

All of it that I have seen so far is ugly as hell. Wtf are these new helmets? The spartan armor has always been appealing because of its simple, hard lines and utalitarian styling.

The new armor looks like it was directed at 5 year olds, which is strange because this game feels more mature overall.
