Personally I love how it looks, much more realistic.
What about you? Click on the first image and go down to the seventh picture.
To me I have the same reply as you do, it looks like an actual curving hud.
While the other Halo’s tried to pull this off, it usually just felt flat, like a see through goggles type feel with futuristic tech built in.
But with the Halo 4 hud, it feels like it really bends like a Visor should, and looks as though it works as it should as well.
I love it! It’s a shame the multiplayer HUD doesn’t have the little words and numbers that the campaign HUD has in several spots, and you can’t see the inside of the helmet at the bottom corners of the screen, either.
Yes i like it a lot…
I think it looks amazing. So much better than Reach’s.

Honestly it’s one of the most exciting things in the Gameinformer article. Sooo immersive.
I think it looks good, more realistic and not as gritty as the Reach HuD. A fitting HuD for a new Chief with new firmware and technology
It really should be Helmet Mounted Display, a HUD impiles you look up to see it
it looks awesome and then the screen is black in the corners so it looks like your in a helmet more awesome if the black corners changed form if you wear another helmet
I think I’m the only person who has seen it who isn’t that fond of it. XD
I love the new look.
Hate the new motion tracker, it just feels like a downgrade from Reach’s. I like everything else.
Heck yeah. I really like the fact that you can see the outline of the helmet slightly too. Like Right here
It definitely feels more like a helmet in Halo 4
I don’t know where but I think it was mentioned somewhere that there will be times when the HUD will be off so that we know John isn’t wearing a helmet, likely in some cutscenes.

I call this the Metriod Prime effect.
lol.
Love It
It feels very immersive and has a very smooth feel to it.
The Shield meter thingy looks really nice also.
The new HUD has an even more futuristic look than its predecessors and seems to not get in the way as much as the Reach one.
