I personally love the flood
I like them,but I dont need one of them as a pet.
The flood was a great enemy to have and really made the story interesting.
I enjoy them from a canonical perspective. Absolutely hate them from a gameplay perspective, however.

Prefer their depiction from the Forerunner trilogy, more menacing, they were fun in-game but hard to believe they were that much of a threat.
Scared the leaving hell out of me in game and they were a pain to fight but a good challenge and a lot of fun, I would love to fight them again in the future, especially if we had a spin off game of marines or ODSTs in an abandoned ship or colony fighting off flood, kinda like a mix of Mona Lisa and Halo 3 ODST with a horror spin to it.
