If the new map is supposed to be indicative of how the others are going to be designed… yikes.
It’s way too cluttered and cramped. The vehicle spawns are too unpredictable to where I’ve seen the better vehicles like the banshee and scorpion only spawn with less than a minute left on the game timer. It also doesn’t make sense that the sniper and skewer occupy the same spawn locations and are randomized from game to game and sometimes there is only one sniper on one teams side.
i could go on, but this map is not what I was expecting for a big team battle experience. It turns into corridor fighting with grenade spam to move the points.
what else are you finding on the map? Do people enjoy it?
It’s not BTB at all. Just looks and feels like a mess. It’s so blatant that it’s based on keeping bad players on the game. The scattering of power weapons EVERYWHERE, AR start and the late delivery of vehicles to stop good vehicle players doing real damage. If they don’t change this, I’m out for sure.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. The late delivery of vehicles is a real bore. My last game I finally got the banshee after it dropped and the timer hit zero in ten seconds. What even is the point of that?
I’m enjoying it, I don’t think it’s supposed to be like Valhalla considering its not just a flat boring canyon (sorry for the sudden hot take. I’m just not a fan on Valhalla). I agree that the power weapons feel too prominent and vehicles don’t exist as much as I would like them to. The randomisation of weapons also feels a bit odd (I swear there is a spawn in the middle of the map which swaps between hammer, rockets, and sniper which is strange) but overall I’m having a really fun time.
I’ll be sticking around for the long run in BTB as they get the game balanced and figure it out post-launch.
I haven’t seen much vehicular combat in the seven-or-so matches I’ve played. I can look past that if this map was intentionally designed for infantry-focused combat, as it seems to be. However, if Fragmentation is reflective of the other BTB maps we haven’t seen, then, well… yikes.
I just hope the other BTB maps aren’t as cramped so vehicles can actually breathe. The Warthog just insta-dies pretty much in BTB, the Ghost seems decent due to the smaller profile. And don’t even get me started on the late spawns for the Scorpion, Banshee and Wasp… What’s the point of BTB without powerful vehicles. And they don’t even perform well on Fragmentation. Not to mention, when a Scorpion or Warthog blows up, it literally comes apart like megablocks, and there’s no real scorch marks or visible damage on the different pieces, they all look brand new still even though they just exploded. I dunno, I hope the game is better on launch.
I have never read anywhere tell anyone that this is a spiritual successor to Valhalla.
Personally, if I find this map very funny, it gives the infantry an opportunity to be useful in case of a decompensation in heavy vehicles. What would change would be the decrease in the time it takes for heavy vehicles to appear.
I’m fine with it as one stand alone map, but I do hope that there will be others that are designed with more open spaces. I also don’t hate the pelican drops, but I would like to see alternative modes once it launches like BTB heavies where all the vehicles are right there from the get go.
As it stands now, this is what I’d like it to be if there’s a ranked BTB playlist. But in a social one, I’d definitely want a bit more chaos and just pure hectic fun.
Maps are large and SO MUCH layers to climb, in some game mode if your team don’t get vehicle, than your whole match just f__ked up.
As other thread mentioned about, vehicle are over powered…

I enjoyed it. I find the switch up of the weapons to be fun. It makes me change my TTP’s and overall how I play. I like how you have to hack into the vault, but it’s a little silly that the same weapon in the vault can be found on a little spot near the vault itself. Maybe put that on the complete other side of the map.
I think if this is just one of the maps coming, then we are in good shape. I played Behemoth last weekend, or whatever the desert BTB one is called. That was a nice open spaced one.
I DONT like how the good vehicles like the banshee and wasp spawn literally right before the match ends. I’ll agree with you there.
I played one game and decided that I will not play another BTB game. The random spawn locations of vehicles, the power weapons everywhere, they very linear feel of the map just felt bad.
Also, how many times does Valhalla need to be remade? Enough is enough, I’m ready for new maps and new ideas for all map design.

This isn’t a Valhalla remake. Not even close. The only similarities is the color pallet.
But, I love a good snipers playlist. halo 5 had none. Every map, medium and small, has hardly any line of sights. That’s why snipers have been awful. I wriggle love to see a few maps with good live of sights and objects to work around for cover.

The map is very similar to Valhalla. The main difference is how narrow it is compared to Valhalla.

The lack of powerful vehicle spawns is crazy. I love btb for the vehicles and this has been way disappointing for that.
I also don’t like how the vehicle skeletons are uncharred and also de spawn really quickly. It was nice using the wraith in reach for example for some quick cover.
There’s no room for vehicles besides the Ghost and the Mongoose! I like the varied elevation everywhere, but it should be a bit more open to allow for vehicles and the ability to see you opponent. Some parts of the map feel like a mess.
It’s probably my favorite map so far honestly. I think the layout for vehicles is fine but the issue lies with how the warthog & banshee controls, they move way too quick and it’s easy to run into stuff because of that.
