As many of you have noticed, in both the campaign and the multiplayer footage we saw, there appears to be hitmarkers. Whether or not these are just placeholders to let 343i know how their hit detection functions is unknown, but either way, does the community like the implementation of hitmarkers?
Is it just me or did the conan footage have MUCH more shield feedback when being shot by the BR? In the conan clip the bullets seem to have a much larger visual effect on shields… maybe that didnt work out as well performance wise and they switched to hitmarkers ?

I think so. I actually liked the bright flare it gave off, but they must have toned it down as you said.

Yeah I’m wondering that to. If say you throw a grenade around a corner where you lose sight of the grenade and then you have the hitmarkers appear on your reticle. That would also be really helpful.
From watching the campaign demo, I also noticed that when the Watcher threw the grenade back at you, there is a grenade warning indicator of the where the grenade landed near you. Similar to how it is in Call of Duty. I like that feature a lot actually.
depends on the kind of hitmarker, i hate the cod style hitmarkers that make the anoying sound when you shoot someone, but halo 4 appears to have a more bf3 style of hitmarkers. i like these bf3 hitmarkers, because they are far less obtrusive and dont make that -yoink!- noise
I like their implementation, because it will help a bit when you’re aiming at unshielded enemies, like the ones in the E3 footage. As long as they don’t make noise, I’m good.

Well we have four of each this time around, at least in Campaign, so I’m hoping 343 nerfs them significantly. Frankie also posted something about the grenades not being nukes this time around, which is a good sign.
As long as they aren’t gigantic, and don’t make sound I could care less.
I’m just hoping that no one comes in here and starts blasting away about how everything will be like CoD . . . almost every game now days has hitmarkers.
Sure, hit markers are really good since you know if your shots register or not, something necessary when playing on crappy p2p connection. That at least gives you a chance to adjust to a bad host and his advantages, even though it’s still far from what dedicated servers could have delivered.
I like them, they add to the game
Hit markers are unfair simply for the fact that anyone can just throw a grenade in to a room and know if someone is waiting for them, guns meh i think that the shield reaction is good enough, this is just another way to get closer to cod but what people aren’t seeing is that cod players are to thick minded to even look at anything else so getting closer and closer to cod is just going to drive players that hate cod away and what I’ve seen Halo 4 is dangerously close to that, as a long time fan of halo i only want to see this game be want it should be : glorious
