What do y’all think about Alpha zombies? Personally I love it because Infection already had so many layers and strategies and then Alpha Zombies doubled it. Infection is my favorite playlist and I’m glad it was updated.
Also…
Did they remove the Carbine from Hellfire? I didn’t spot it there when I was playing Braaains.
So far, no. I posted my thoughts about it in the other thread. I think I like thrust too much in Infection.

The problem when you’re sprinting and no thrust is you can’t really move in a different direction so you’re an easy kill especially when everyone has a magnum. I didn’t really find the slide to be that useful. The floaty jumps without thrust is also really awkward because thrust helped negate that when trying to get into tight places that were in the middle of the jump height.
The plalylist kind of makes me a bit upset because I’m starting to realize how much fun Halo 5’s infection could have been if the starting weapons had been magnums all along. The infected are already extremely overpowered even in the regular infection mode, so I really don’t see why 343 would want to give the humans another disadvantage in the first place. It does make playing as a infected a lot less tedious and frustrating though so kudos to 343 for that.

I agree with this. Also I couldn’t tell what was so Alpha about the Alpha Zombies. The normal infected seem to have the same abilities as the originals. I thought the alphas were supposed to be the only ones with sprint or something?
Personally i like it but i dont always want to play it. If it had its own catagory then that would be fine but i cant really play zombies without dealing with alpha when i just want to do the classic one
I prefer having the boost when I play as infected, but having sprint seems to be a fairly balanced trade-off. However, I really don’t see why map weapons are disabled. Starting with the magnum is great, but the map weapons provide strategic locations on the battlefield. (Do I risk running to the SAW, or just camp and play it safe?)
Having no map weapons basically reduces survivor strategy to “Which camping spot is best? Let’s go there and stay there.” I really don’t see why placed weapons would be detrimental to alpha mode, especially if shotgun ammo was reduced to compensate.
