Do you know why gamers quit matches early, 343?

It’s because they feel good knowing that they don’t have to remain in a hopeless match without recourse.

Gamers can only take fighting against hopeless odds for so long before they revolt and say “Enough is enough.”

So gamers quit the match early and you give them a temporary ban.

Well played, 343. Well played, indeed.

There’s nothing like punishing customers who buy your products and pay for your salaries!

The moral is to not quit matches.

The issuance of temporary matchmaking bans deters those players who leave a match early.

This improves the experience for the players who dig in and stick through a fight - even if they know they are going to lose.

I support the system wholeheartedly.

I’m in the fence with this topic. I agree with the punishment but at the same time i don’t. I’ve not been punished yet and I’ve left i think 2 games so far, but for rl reasons. What i can’t stand is idle players all game.

Honestly, i feel the ban is the only way to combat it because that player is ruining the fun for everyone.

Yes quitters should be punished, and if you aren’t good enough to be playing with the players you have been matched up with, do not quit and be a bad-sportsman about it, instead accept defeat, and move on to the next match. Players who quit early shouldn’t even play, why bother? I’m glad they ban quitters, keep up the good work 343!

You must be new to Halo, bans for quits have been in place for a while including past Halo games.
Go play CoD or Destiny where you can quit all you like.

I’ve never been punished, because I never quit.

butthurt much?

So you’re moaning because you are a persistent quitter and you got a ban?

Quitters deserve a ban. Some even quit because they a losing by 1 point.

I’m a crap player as well. I wont get better at the game if I quit because i’m losing. And because i’m not quitting the skill based matching kicks in and puts me in games with similarly skilled players so now games are not so hopeless and I have even come top of my winning team in some games.

Don’t play a game you won’t finish. Regardless if you dislike losing you joined the game, tough it out. Besides, sometimes getting your -Yoink- beat can make you a better player.

Hopeless matches? There is always a chance of turning a match around.

It wouldnt let me lazy link on my phone but we were about to lose a warzone by over half. We quickly took their bases and destroyed the core. The beginning of this clip is about 10 seconds after capturing the 3rd armory.

only quit if the connection is awful; If I am rubber banding around, I feel quitting is acceptable as that is a situation where it is quite literally unplayable and staying would just my team down. Getting matched up against better players isn’t a reason to quit; stick through it. You might surprise yourself with a comeback and learn you weren’t as bad as you thought.

I can’t tell everyone how often I have been in games with epic turn arounds. The bans are fair for quitting. Purchasing a game does not give you permission to ruin the game for other people.

No, it’s because the ranking system is crap, and there’s like no other playlists to play. Oh and the maps aren’t great.

Or how about not being a sore loser and quit.

Someone mentioned a Forfeit option which I think is a very good idea 343 should look into. It works very well in Smite. As long as 90-95% of the team vote to forfeit, the game will end.

You don’t like the maps. You don’t like the ranking system. You aren’t a fan of the playlists. Tell us again why you are choosing to play multiplayer at all. If you don’t like the vast majority of components for the game, then you aren’t going to enjoy it.

No. Finish the game and let it place you where you need to be.

Heck I know a halo player that if he gets shot in the first few seconds he quits so i’d love to see him get ban.

Start reporting him. And yes he will eventually be banned .

No need to be a sore loser. It is just healthy competition if you don’t take it personally. Take the loss with dignity. No need to ruin things for other players by bailing.
