Do you have to play halo every day to be good?

Does taking days off make you worse you think?

I wouldn’t advise playing every day. I mean, you can if you want to, but there’s more to life than that. You can play occasionally and play good, but you may need to practice a bit just to be on the safe side.

To your title, no, you don’t have to play everyday to be good. To your post, yes, taking off days makes you worse. However, as Wraith said, there’s more to life than video games, so I advise against playing everyday. Usually I only play on the weekends now that school’s started up again.

The only thing that I noticed when I take extended days off is my aiming ability will suffer, but my decision making is still the same. Getting my aim back to the usual state depends on how long I’ve been gone for.

There are times i go a week without playing and my aim is fine after a couple octagons when i get back on but my awareness sucks.

Octagon doesn’t help with map awareness. It’s mostly about predicting spawns and then shooting the enemy when they pop up. But with Arena modes, you’re set on an actual map with weapons and powerups and obstacles and stuff. Try SWAT instead of Octagon when you join back after a cooldown, see how that helps.

You don’t necessary need to play everyday to become better. Get your sufficient fill of Halo every now and then, and always prioritize real life at the end of the day.

STORY TIME
I used to play Halo 5 everyday until my internet quality suddenly went down the drain at the very beginning of July. Since then, I’ve been off the Halo grid for the longest time since my Gold subscription expired around February. As a result, my skills (and overall mood) has become blunted somewhat after being away from the system for such a period of time. But despite being away from the controller for so long, it only took me a couple of hours (probably underestimating myself) to get my edge back.

Don’t remind me, I start in a week and a half.

No not really but practice when you can works wonders

I played Reach and Halo 3 almost every day through high school, and I consider myself to be great at both of those games. However, when I wouldn’t play for a week or a few weeks, I would notice I couldn’t get the quick-scopes as smoothly or strafe as quickly. Not playing definitely doesn’t “help” you get better, in that sense. But, as others have said, enjoy life how you want to and don’t worry about being great. If you can take a few days off Halo and come back to compete with Diamond and Onyx players, then consider yourself good and leave it at that. Odds are, if you were good enough for pro, you’d be pro already.

Lucky, I started last week. My junior year (high school) is gonna be hell. What are you going into?

I need to find a new game to get into, Halo is just so annoying. Its fun when teams are even but with smurfs being 80% of the players you match against its not even fun anymore.

Nope… you can play for many years and still can’t hit the board side of a barn standing in it. I know for a fact… lmao.
Playing daily or taking a month or two off. My kd never changes:)

Last week? Dude, I thought it was painful to start this week, but that takes the cake. (Senior in High School)

I didn’t played the MP for 2 months once, (Because of my internet connection, I love Halo.)I came back not long before now and I discovered I was better after a few SWAT games, now I actually love SWAT LOL, specially the game mode were you start with the magnum from CE.

I don’t agree with you, but I strongly recommend Titanfall 2, it is an excellent game, best shooter we have had in years, you should also try Modern Warfare Remastered now that it is standalone.

When I say last week, I mean 6 days ago. Are you starting on Monday or did you also start 6 days ago? It’s not all bad though, as I do get out mid-May.

I maintained over a 2.0 KDR when playing every day. That was eight months ago.

I still play a couple games a week but the KDR has dipped quite a bit to around 1.4-1.6 depending on the game type.

It is like any sport you have to play it all the time to keep your skills good.

…Wot.

So you go from “Hey, I wanna stay skilled at this game, do I need to play every day to do that?” to “This game pisses me off, I wanna find something better”. Call me out on this if you’d like, but I think you’re just not that good at the game. Either that or you’re grossly overstating the amount of things that piss out off in your statement. I seriously doubt that 80% of all Halo 5 players use smurf accounts, and if you do, you need to learn to fight them. It’s all on you and your ability to beat them back. Don’t let them get through to you.

Nah, it was Wednesday. It does have an early release, though, which is nice. Plenty of cooldown (And Halo) before going off to college.
