Do you have hope?

Still far, but do you have hope that the 3rd season gonna revive the game in general?
If you say yes, what do you expect about it?
You know, cooperative, new maps, new game modes, a better store, new DLC for the campaign somenthing like that.

I don’t think it’ll revive the game. I think there is still too much time before now and then to determine but if the current rate of delivery is anything to go off of, it may be a good time before we are all at least content

I have hope that forge will be good or at least as good as H5. Forge is the one thing 343 has generally been pretty good at delivering on. But also forgers are extremely talented people and have consistently created better playspaces than the devs. However, forge alone isn’t enough. Custom Games Browser has to be ready. More gamemodes need to be available to forge with. And a “Community Arena” playlist needs to be added so matchmade games can be played on forge maps when they get added.

Am I confident that 343 can deliver on all of these when forge arrives?

No, not really.

Not so much S3 per se. Forge and customs.

Their support and content they added to MCC and H5 has been pretty good tbf but it’ll be too slow and the pop will be too low by then

Summary

Nothing will revive the game short of 343 dissolving and replaced with another studio who knows their stuff.

343 has so much bad press under their belt that people have come to EXPECT FAILURE from them.

Judge 343i by what they do, not what they say that they will do.

Inifnite is going to be the best halo in the entire series one day. I know it. But its going to be 4 or 5 years from now until we hit that point. 343 makes great halo games but it takes years of begging from the fans and years of feedback before 343 says “ok we’ll give you what you want”. Its such a bad track record for them. Why they cant EVER get it right on launch is beyond me.

No. The many things you mentioned should’ve already been added at the start of thise barebones game, minus dlc.

Its barebones and not very well thought out or executed.

Worst halo launch ever in terms of content, decision making, and what decisions they’ve made already. Where is everything thats been in previous halos? Lol

Forge, theater, customizations, COOP.

Where is it 343? Lol

They should be called 343 days to releaee something hahaha.

I honestly don’t think this game is going to be close to complete or in a great state until at least S5. If you’d have asked me three months ago, I would have said S3 would be a revitalization of the game.

I just get the feeling the active dev team is still pretty small, and the technical debt feels so heavy, that I think making a lot of changes are just really difficult to execute.

Like, their armor core system is at a place where they’re having to individually apply cross core at a per item level. That fundamentally can’t scale to a 10 year plan of customization content.

I’m usually a pretty staunch 343 defender too  (every Halo is good!)

I have more than hope.

That one day, Studio-117 will replace 343 Industries.
And we will make Halo great again!

I’m not so sure this game will be fixed by s3, but I do think it will get better.

The only hope to have had was pre-launch.

Devs and publishers SERIOUSLY need to understand how crucial first impressions are when it comes to retaining a player base. The fact Infinite launched in such an unfinished state with horrible and predatory monetization drove a lot of potential fans away.

Halo Infinite should have been delayed by at least another year or even more and should have had it’s progression and unlock system completely reworked.

It also should not have gone free to play…

It pains me to even say this, but no. Just no. By the time S3 comes out, no one will be left playing. I got S2 hoping things would be better and smoother, and thats exactly what didnt happen. I finished S2, I might come around to finish Entrenched because I do like the Diesel Punk core, but other than that, I’ll probably play something else. 343i has failed miserably…

too little too late. i’m dissapointed still and i can’t give 343 ANY more free hope or praise. they had 6 years and 2 (technically 3) games prior to GET THINGS RIGHT… yet they still mess it up. at this point i’m just wanting them to drop it and provide support to the prior games, like hws, mcc, and h5 over this garbage of infinite.
will it be ‘better’ in 10 years? probably. but no matter if f2p or not, releasing and incomplete product and expecting the customers to wait TEN or so YEARS for the ‘final’ and ‘complete’ product is complete bs.
the higher ups at MS or 343 really needs to be changed… as currently they don’t give an hoot about it, only if it fills their pockets. the clear small price increases shows that, along with the lack of QA testing

The initial decisions to not release slayer(a big red flag with community veterans), have a shallow map pool, and two 6 month seasons killed this game and it’s hopes to have anything remotely to what they think will be a success.

The potentially incoming battle royale will beat Halo further into the ground. You’ll get a plethora of players in from the Apex and Fortnite crowd; but they’ll leave and go back to what they know. The peak will be short lived.

343i was handed a golden egg and dropped it. Not shocking considering what MCC was in the beginning …. Just a further disappointment.

So to answer your question: no. No, I don’t have hope.

YES I’ve got hope! This game will become amazing.

You can see where their priority has been from day one. 10 year lifespan of this game is going to end up being a lot different than what they advertised it as

Nope and for one reason. Upper management. The community has been giving 343 feedback from day one and it’s either completely ignored or if it is applied its only a small fraction. Putting that broader audience in front of the community that has been with Halo through the best and worse times is one of the main reason this game, and the series as a whole, is in the dirt .

It would be great to see season 3 bring the player population to Halo 3 levels but with how 343 is operated that will never happen.

Some simple fixes would be adding social aspects like partying up, file sharing, reach customization, (as promised btw) and of course adressing desync.

It’s basically Forge or Bust. Forge looks great, but we will see how it goes when it gets here. Campaign DLC is apparently 3 years away, and the Battle Royale is 1-2 years away (according to articles and YouTubers that have some kind of inside source), so basically no new content and 6 month long seasons until 2025. It’s seriously Forge or Bust. I haven’t played in months. I have no reason to. MCC is better in every way.

343 will never be Bungie, and can’t keep up with Live Service, like Destiny and any other Live Service games can. They’re crawling like dying snails. I’ve never seen such a poor excuse for a Live Service. It’s all Lip Service. No content. Just empty words. No actual content for almost 5 years. That’s half of their 10 year plan. All shop, no game. If these leaks are true, just end it now. I’m not waiting 10 years for the game to be good.
