I always go back to the games I left and looks like I finally get to go back to my childhood with halo I was 8 the first time I played Halo I fell in love with it halo 3 was my first ever halo I tried playing it and I sucked so much dying over and over again because every time I play a game I put it on the highest difficulty possible at the start so yeah 8 year old kid playing Halo 3 on legendary for the first time then at age nine I was half way though the campaign and then the flood showed up -Yoink- the flood I love the idea and concept creation how they look but -Yoink- the flood I was on this one mission when you are like in the flood ship and there is just so much flood spawning and on legendary yeah no but I still managed to beat the halo 3 campaign in legendary at the age of nine two month before my birthday by the way it took me a long time because I raged a lot and took breaks so I would not become the first bald kid in the world without cancer or some kinda special condition sometimes a weekend breaks sometimes 2 months and then I went on to beat every halo on legendary except for five as I fell out of halo after beating halo 4 on legendary oh the Prometheans we’re worse then flood so much worse especially when you had like 5 promethean knights after your -Yoink- they were basically hunters but on roids and crack damage anytime I go up against a hunter I would just ring around the Rosie them while shooting at there back like the best -Yoink!- matador there is but the knights yeah no they were like 180 turn like spider fast if you ever seen a spider turn after feeling a vibration you know what I mean now imagine an 8 foot thing that looks insect like and has a big gun that blows you the -Yoink- up on legendary that was my experience and halo 4 was the only halo game I could never beat on legendary by myself I had to bronogeddon it but I still beat it on legendary none the less with me and my good friend Brandon I later went on to play Halo Halo 3 odst and reach and also beat those on legendary solo halo 4 broke me those knights screwed me so hard and then the unthinkable happend I lost every achievement I ever earned not just for all the halo I played it was all my games because of black ops 3 yeah you get like 50 and 80 kill games everytime little kids will report you that then leads to comm bans then I got an account ban it was the saddest day of my life my profile commander AR was gone all my prog on halo gone all my achievements my skulls all of it gone after that I stopped playing cod forever I hated that game since it ruined me by the way if you guys are wondering why everyone got pissed at me in cod which led to the ban I was your friendly neighborhood knifer and I was good at it I was 7th on the leaderboards for most melee kills not anymore though as I got banned lost everything my prog was reset on everything but the reason why people hated me was not because I was a god teir knifer well no they hated me for that but what they really hated me for was when the ripper came out I abused the -Yoink- out of that guy and would drop 80 kill games on Nuketown 50 kill games on every other map as he had a lunge that was so big it was half the range of a shotgun so I got banned because I killed way to many people way to fast and the reporting was dumb back then so yeah but I then played Halo 5 but I lost my spark I sucked at halo once again I mean look at my profile for halo like damn I suck but halo infinite has revived my fire the primordial flame that has all but been extinguished has come back to the light and it is burning brighter than ever I will be redownloading halo 5 and claiming my rightful place back in the ranks of the Spartans I will achieve onyx rank and I will make Sargent Johnson proud of me by the way appreciate the fact that you dedicated the training camp to Sargent Johnson also fun fact Brandon who I beat halo 4 legend with his last name was Johnson. Would love to hear other halo story’s or the journeys they had or the painful loss of a friend pleas share if you have a story to be told
I don’t have many specific stories, but I love to see people like you passionate about Halo and enjoying the game like me. Halo is my favorite video game franchise I adore it and love it to death. But the only real stories I can remember specifically are stories where I played custom games with my friends, sometimes at their house too. I played Fat Boy Run, Jenga Addiction, Storm the Beach, Teacher, Prop Hunt, and many more on Halo Reach and Halo 3. Halo Reach is just my favorite Halo not just because the pretty good campaign but also because amazing experiences I had with going to my friends house and secretly playing Halo Reach with them without my mom knowing cause she didn’t allow me to play those games cause I was 7 or 8 at the time. Halo is like the video game version of Star Wars I practically grew up with it and it was love at first sight for me.

Nice even the small stories are to be respected thanks for sharing
I grew up with halo with me and my brother. He has since moved on to PC and playing other games (does not intend on playing halo). Started playing Halo 5 with a mic and just talked to whoever was cool. Slowly but surely started making friends and then friends with their friends. Now we pretty much have a group of up to 10 people at times who get on to play halo and it really makes my Friday nights. Always fun to hang out with them on a game that is still going strong (moved on to MCC). We have been friends now for 5 years of more.
Been thinking about my history with Halo since I got the email inviting me to the tech preview this weekend. CE came out when I was 11, and the first time I saw gameplay of it was at a friends house and I was blown away by it. I wanted an Xbox so badly to play it but we couldn’t afford to get one as my parents had already invested in a PlayStation at the time. So basically from then up until about 2008 I had to play just at my friends house which were very painful times lol. Then when he got an Xbox 360 he gave me his old original Xbox with CE and H2. I played the ever living out of those games. At some point a little after Reach released he stopped playing games regularly and so he lent me his 360 along with H3, ODST and Reach, which I of course went nuts with any chance I got. I even got pretty good at Reach’s multiplayer, and that’s saying something because I normally SUCK at PvP lol! I didn’t play too much of H4 after my first run through the campaign, but I still enjoyed it. Finally in 2015, right before H5 came out, I bought my own Xbox One and it came with the MCC and boy let me tell you, it was a great day and still is to this day. H5 unfortunately kind of let me down in more ways than one but I don’t need to go into all that now. Needless to say, Infinite’s launch day can’t come soon enough. I suppose this weekend should help a little with my impatience lol
A little backstory to how I started, on a different post I stated that I’ve been playing since I was 6 up to now (20). For 14 years of my life I’ve had this game franchise with me through a lot of difficult times. I busted out the og Xbox and found the 1st and 2nd Halos, I started crying when I heard the boot up for the Xbox and intro for Halo 2. It felt so good to finally bring back some childhood memories in recent times. As I got older I ended up get the other consoles and games and the books as well. Book wise Fall of Reach is my comfort read for anything (Fun fact me and Eric Nylund, the Author, share the same birthday). I didn’t have really any friends at all to play with or anything but just playing the campaigns over and over was the only thing I could do since I didn’t have live. Looking back at my past with this game to now I can’t believe how much growth a series can give to a person. Since the release of Halo 5 and it’s multiplayer BTB is all I play and I never experienced so much chaos and fun in a game mode. I’m proud of how much the series and community as a whole grew changed and adapted throughout history, I’m just glad I got to be apart of something like this.

Congrats on making it into the tech preview are you gonna stream it and if you are I would love to watch it and I was also wondering if you would let me know if it is worth the hype or if it is just another cyberpunk thanks for sharing your story
20 years ago. Man. Most of my stories are of a grizzled old greybeard at this stage staying up late supposedly studying for his comp sci degree and instead playing multiplayer through lan. I wish I could convey to all of you guys who were much younger how exciting the internet was back then; how much possibility lay before us, and how concepts in this game got us excited about the future of AI and machine learning. While I think it’s true to say that i would still be in computer science in university, Cortana was the seed that got me interested in the field that I would later go into. Without Bungie, without Cortana, there would be no semblance of the man that I am today. I wouldn’t have the memories of getting drunk with friends, playing Halo all weekend and talking about the endless and infinite possibilities that lay before us.

Thanks! I unfortunately don’t stream as of yet, although I’ve wanted to start a regular one up for a bit now but my money situation won’t allow it at the moment lol. However, I could definitely let you know what I think of it at the end of weekend for sure. Thanks for sharing your story too, as well as giving others a place to share their own.

Why I am not a grey beard myself my father that adopted me was born in 1953 and he actually shared the view about black and white tv some of his shows that featured Robbie the robot the twilight zone my favorite one on that was the closet he shared his views when he first saw starwars when there was a giant metal bird in the sky and when there was no internet it is a shame that my father was taken from me by covid 2 weeks after I got back from basic training from the 11 bravo but look at me rambling thx for sharing your story man

Sorry for the delay. Mondays are usually a bit hectic for me lol. I had a blast with the flight. The build overall ran well on my Series X. I had frame rate issues sometimes in the weapon drills but none that I noticed while playing Bot Slayer. All the guns feel really good to shoot, and the AR actually feels viable now instead of a liability. The bots were a pushover at first but once they got kicked up to ODST difficulty they could be pretty beastly lol. I got kicked a couple of times back to the main menu while loading into a match, but that was to be expected as they mentioned that before the flight went live.
At one point, they released an actual 4v4 Slayer option with no bots and it was just crazy (in a good way). Tbh, I felt like i was back in 2009 playing Halo 3, and that’s really saying something lol. If this build was 2-3 months behind where they’re currently at, I have very high hopes for the game and can’t wait for it to come out.
