Seriously. Every time I visit these forums (I don’t post, as you can tell), I browse through the threads, until I find something related to my interests of competitive gameplay. What do I see in these threads? Randoms tearing down the name of MLG. Seriously, WTF. MLG basically created balance in video games, the one thing that both casuals and competitives agree is necessary for everyone to have fun, and you guys tear down the name of the only company that seems to hold it up?
You make me sick Waypoint. Halo 4 will probably b ruined because of you.
> competitive gameplay / balance .
What halo needs
Being an MLG fan for many years I can say that you need to take your problems elsewhere. This isn’t the MLG forums, so there aren’t going to be all MLG fans here. Some like it and some don’t. There are people that attack blindly on subjects they have no knowledge of. Just let them be.
3SK pistols and CE maps= Competitive gameplay optimal for MLG.
Since Halo 4 isn’t bringing back either so far…
Expect everything to be stripped down again. Business as usual folks.
Not that i have anything against competitive gaming; it’s just it’s happened in the past, so it’s going to happen again and MLG retains the right to do so within it’s playlist.
Of course as long as it’s not Vanilla Reach type settings, i’ll play Halo 4 as is or on different settings.

This has got to be the single most ignorant thing I’ve read all day. MLG is not the begin all end all of Gaming, and in fact cares vary little for console games as a whole if you look at the Spring line up. I highly doubt even having every pro MLG Halo Player on the dev team will put it back on the main stage. It’s had an almost 10 year run in MLG and people have gotten board of it, SCII and LoL are the top dogs, and they will be thrown out as soon as something new and shinny take the stage, and as much as I’d like it to be Halo, I doubt that will happen. Not unless MLG is willing to play it out of the box as is. It might not be competitive, but that’s not what people wanna see, they want pro players to play the same game they are, and views are all that matter to MLG. Its a sad truth.

This one speaks the truth.
It would rather interesting to see MLG play out of the box settings for Halo 4. It certainly helps with ease the negative image it helped itself gain by not isolating itself from the rest of the playerbase. Casuals (at least some or more) would be like “Hey, those pros are playing the game i am playing!” rather than “pft tryhards, have to revert back to CE/Halo 2 again because they can’t adapt”.
If it gets more stream views and allows more players to be competitive and partcipate, i am all for it TBH.

Agree. That is a seriously dumb statement.
MLG did not create balance. They removed elements of the game that required relatively little skill e.g ghost splatters. These elements are still balanced: Both sides get a ghost, a wraith etc. They simply altered the game to become a contest of who has practiced the most with certain weapons. For the vast majority of casual players, WHO PAYED JUST AS MUCH FOR THE GAME AS THE ‘PROS’, MLG sucks all the fun out of the game.
Trust me when I say there is nothing ‘balanced’ about going 3-20 in a game because I am not willing to devote my life to practicing at DMR strafing.
