Over an improved spartan ops?
I’m the greedy guy that wants both.
Give me all the content they can.
I want both lol, firefight would be sweet.
The idea of Spartan Ops I had in my head was an actual, second campaign, with characters that I cared about and missions which actually led from one area to another. I wanted to be able to interact with Lasky, Sarah Palmer, and Team Majestic in gameplay. Heck, It would have been better if Spartan Crimson was actually a member of Team Majestic. [“Team Crimson, press this button.”–I’m playing solo].
Then, I thought that we would be able to replay those missions as Firefight missions, with wave after wave of enemies, like in ODST. Actually, that’s what I thought the Spartan Ops missions would be like–the missions we got in Halo 3 ODST. Did we get that? Nope.
If they insist on giving us one or the other, I’d take Firefight.
But if they completely ignore FF in favor of Spartan Ops again, that’s their choice. We’d be back to square one again.
I’d push for bots in Forge though as a replacement, and no less
only if it is flood
Firefight over Spartan Ops, but I reckon they could make both
I think that bots in forge would be my top wanted addition and firefight my second. Spartan ops was meh, but I think it could be better if executed correctly, like including more storyline and such
I would like a new Firefight mode.
Firefight was a real game mode.
spartan ops was a side campaign that was released live a TV show.
I loved Spartan ops but in the end it was just another campaign, which is awesome.
But I would rather have Firefight, and just a longer campaign. Both with new features from each other.
For examples:
add to campaign:
- Matchmaking on campaign levels/missions. <div>2. Longer campaign
Add to new Firefight:
- Add Small ending and starting scenes that
show your custom spartan is the scenes.
2.add more objectives into Firefight.
-
Firefight matchmaking will be like odst , but custom games will have many options to choose from.
-
You will have a rank in matching Firefight, or have a display on your highest round reached.
</div>
I’d like both because it’s always a shame to see features cut from a game instead of being tweaked to work better. But if I had to choose one over the other, I choose Firefight. I poured a hell of a lot more time into Firefight on Reach and ODST than I did with Spartan Ops.
And I’d like two variants of Firefight while we’re at it: Classic, ODST-style survival mode and a Reach-style Arcade-like playlist.
I loved firefight. I just liked the idea of being your own spartan and trying to survive wave after wave of covenant forces and see just how long a team of us can last as the rounds get tougher and tougher. it was exciting and what a hell of a thrill if you could get to a high round! though it was annoying when the rounds got higher your sniper rifle couldnt get many kills but thats what the it more challenging!
Spartan ops was good because its like a campaign for your own spartan but the way 343i just recycled most of the campaign and having to return to them 5 more times throughout the whole season bored me. I know firefight does this but if your going to create a campaign for multiplayer you need to keep us entertained and by that I don’t mean have your commanders wining at each other over the comms and repeating the same level. The dialogue for spartan ops made me cringe sooo much <xp. it was also irritating when you thought the mission was over but instead they extend the level with some sh*t excuse like “The pelicans crashed” or “Roland mixed our battle plans with palmers suprise party plans!”
All spartan ops needs is a decent story with good dialogue and fresh levels. But with all honestly I would take firefight over spartan ops any day simply because spartan ops was just not ready for release in my opinion.
I would like both.
A firefight that you fought until you died. With multiple different enemy to fight. Flood, old covenant, and the knights.
A spartan ops with more story and less replay of the same maps.
Of course! It was an amazing alternative to play either than basic multiplayer & the story.
I want both. I’d love to see firefight forge. I’d love to see elements of Call of Duty Zombies added in where we can buy barricades or weapons.
Preferably both, but if I had to pick one I‘d go with Firefight because of the superior re-play value. Having finished Spartan Ops once I have no interest at all to re-visit it.
Spartan Ops was also awful in single player, a pure grind on higher difficulties. Firefight on the other hand was playable, and most of all fun, both alone and in co-op both on pretty much any difficulty.
I’d rather have a better-done, Reed-free Spartan Ops and Firefight. Preferably with Spartans VS Elites being integrated into the latter in Matchmaking. Customizable AI as allies would be nice, too. You could set up a little squad for yourself and fulfill your headcanon fantasies.
Both
Hell yeah, spartan ops is not like firefight, it has different objectives and styles of gameplay. Firefight is more fun because its wave based.
ODST’s firefight was very fun, so I’d like having that style of firefight back.
Definitely Firefight over Spartan Ops. If they bring back the ODST style with limited lives and weapon drops then I think it would be really fun to play.
Also as others have said, forgable firefight. Be able to choose where enemies spawn, how they spawn, and where and when weapon/vehicle drops spawn, etc… would give this game mode unlimited possibilities.
