Do you guys use FOBs at all?

I kinda don’t understand the FOB-Concept in Infinite. I rarely use them, nor do i feel that they are a big factor in completing the campaign.
Most of the important campaign objectives are placed indoors, so a tank,?for example, won’t get me far.
You can get power-weapons there but the same weapons are lying around everywhere and with limited ammo.
Helping other squads/companies in need doesn’t really take much of a team effort at all.

Am i missing something here?
Do i play the game wrong?
What’s your take on FOBs and how do you utilise them?

Edit: Closed the poll. Using FOB‘s takes the cake.

they functionally serve as Fast travel points that you can spawn vehicles and choose your weapons to go into the nearby objective, thats about it sadly, could be akin to a Ubisoft tower in terms of nearby things being highlighted.

Needed to highlight the HVTs.

Used as fast travel points.

Used to spawn in weapons and ammo before embarking on a new mission.

Not much use apart from that though.

How else can you get the best vehicle in the game?

Step 1: Get five marines (The FOB gives you some of them).
Step 2: Equip them all with Skewer/Sniper Rifle/Rocket Launcher/Sentinel Beam variants.
Step 3: Spawn a Razorback.
Step 4: Demolish any Banish in your path.

The wasp, tank, razorback, sniper, rocket, BR, and everything OP spawner?
Yeah I use them all the time. But you are right they are not too usefully for campaign stuff but they make getting everything in the open world a whole lot easier even in little ways such as fast travel points. Especially on Legendary or for having goofy adventures on zeta halo.

Razorback Beats Tank Indeed!

Now that I’ve beat the campaign, I’m going back through on legendary and I find the fobs to be almost necessary. Loading up a razorback with sniper marines or skewers really helps to keep a vehicle alive for any amount of time beyond a minute because of how much damage they’ll take on legendary.

Is it required, no, but it sure helps to make things a bit easier and fun with some of the dumb stuff you can give Marines and load up with.

I saw one with the rapid fire pulse carbine and one with the arcane sentinel beam

After beating the over priced $60.00 Campaign and unlocking everything ; THERE IS LITERALLY NO REASON TO TOUCH THE CAMPAIGN until a new DLC is released or new Halo game is released.

So no, I don’t even bother with FOBS anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, i know how FOBs work but i haven’t come across a situation where they are really really useful.
Maybe when i’ve unlocked the WASP, i can use them to their full potential but i guess i’m already through the campaign by then.

I initially thought the FOB-Concept was cool, i imagined loading up a Warthog with marines, fighting our way through enemy hordes so that i can finish the boss in a 1v1 but unfortunately, this has not been the case in my single player experience.
Bosses gang bang you, while your marines don‘t want anything to do with that or sometimes can‘t even enter specific zones that i‘m fighting in.

I think it would be cooler if you could ask for reinforcements, that are then dropped off by Octane-Pelican, for some sort of currency.
Maybe the Pelican needs that blue or orange goo stuff as fuel or whatever, so you‘d need to collect X amount of it, in order to call in an airdrop.

You must be fun at parties

Oh, my bad! How about „Mountain Goo“?

I wasn’t using them at first because I was worried that spawning things costs Valor, but when I realized that they didn’t cost Valor, and I saw how powerful the unique weapons were, I started using them frequently.

Want to take a tactical marine squad with BR’s and snipers to an HVT at night on foot? Set it up at the FOB!

Want to load up a Razorback with Cindershot and sentinel beam marines? Set it up at the FOB.

Want to fly around and reign terror from above? Grab a Wasp at the FOB.

Hog time? FOB time.

Tank time? FOB time.

The FOBs let you play thet open world however you want basically.

Do you even LASO bro?

Finished it on LASO already, no glitches, skips or tank gun
LASO has nothing to do with FOBs, so whatever tick you got, its just pointless

LOL

I don’t like to brag, but Im pretty chill at parties.

OK, maybe i should use the open world more.
Fast travel for me is just running and using the grapple or the mountain dew glitch. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Mainly used FOB and vehicle spawns to quickly reach unlockables like customisation and upgrades but did occasionally use them for some of the Banished outposts so I could bring a few (mostly useless) soldiers along.
