From what I have read and experienced so far on Halo Waypoint, I don’t feel and haven’t felt that the community has really been listened to or acknowledged; creating changes based on feedback from a majority of the community on certain topics, on Halo Waypoint

I could be wrong about this and so I am seeking your insights, experiences and perspectives

In turn, I feel that because of this, it has drastically decreased morale and created less interest to continue posting and interacting on the forums; given the current population and level of conversation on Waypoint, compared to other platforms

So in conclusion,

What are your thoughts and how do you feel about this?

nope.

if there are listing to the feedback then most off the problems have never start in the first place.

some years ago some people told that making the mutliplayer F2P is a big mistake and now we see the resutalt from it.

same with last year it took 4 or 5 month’s after launch before there know there was a cheating problem and all the time people have post on the forum there was a cheating problem.

and most off all the update note’s there have also stop posting then on the forum and move it to the support page.
so question is then why move it to the support page when the forum is the best place to post it.

No,. It always has seemed other social media seems to be the way to get info/feed back. Which is pretty sad considering this is supposed to be the official Halo place. The new waypoint is nice but it doesn’t seem to be used much by 343 most the time. I wish we could have the old Halo Waypoint app from the Xbox 360 on Xbox one… That was so awesome and it’s sad it was abandoned for Halo channel that was a huge step down and then I am pretty sure that was abandoned as well. But 343 has plenty of work cut out for them just getting Halo back on track.

I hve never seen them acknowledge a petition or poll or even just simple ask before. I remember being on a POLL that had 98% of votes on one thing with like 1000 votes. Did anybody on forum team or 343 reply? NO.

and that make’s things more wierd to understand sometime’s.
why do you have a official forum in the first place if there do notting with it at all.
i know some game’s that have also there official forum and the developers there use it 100% for what is has to do in the first place.
its the first place where there post the news and update’s from there game on.
and its the first place to read if there are problems with the game and help the players out with it.
same go’s with the feedback about things or to get new idea’s from players for the game there can add and not have think about it.

also the official forum from a game is the communication platform between the developers and the communety also.

Nope, definitely not.

343 has never been specific about how often or with what methods they monitor the forums. I think that they simply don’t.

Since when has Halo Waypoint been used for feedback?

I can provide one example I found recently:

https://support.halowaypoint.com/hc/en-us/articles/6492534068884-Fireteam-CSR-Limit

These limits were designed to be reasonably loose at first, but we will consider adjusting them depending on player feedback and match data. Please feel free to provide your input on the Halo Infinite forums on Halo Waypoint.

I have seen other references to where there is mention that feedback is read and taken into account on the forums, but I haven’t seen any results/evidence for it, other than direct threads such as:

Official Forge Feedback Thread
https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/official-forge-feedback-thread/553696

Custom Games Browser Feedback Thread
https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/custom-games-browser-feedback-thread/555724

My main reason for creating this thread, is that I feel most people don’t feel like there is much interaction between 343 and it’s community; on the Halo Waypoint Forums. That being specifically, taking their communities’ feedback into account, where discussions on improving the game are taken into account

Of course there are many ideas that are brought forward, however I feel there are a lot of good ideas that are over saturated amongst the others, or simply not taken into account

I do not know everything and I do not have the answers to figuring this out or resolving this, hence why I brought it forward to the Halo Waypoint community

On that note, thank you to everyone that has contributed to this thread so far, your feedback and input is very much appreciated :blue_heart:

I was facetiously pointing out how 343 typically ignores their fans and audience, even mocking us at times with a superiority complex.

For example, skip to 2:33 on this vid to see what 343 approved as a way to address an actual concern by the players :

Or how during the interviews for the development of Halo 4 a dev went on to say “Halo Fans do not know what they want. They think they know what they want but they really don’t.

Or how critique of Halo 3 MCC’s issue with hit-reg was being brought up by a prominent player and live on a stream a 343 dev didn’t take the issue seriously, deciding instead to mock the player by basically saying get good lol" rather than addressing the issue that the sniper rifle was doing no damage when clearly hitting players.

Or how for a publicity stunt a lot of HCS Pros were brought on-board for Halo 5’s development to provide multiplayer feedback through game testing. The pros did game-testing and approved maps to be perfect, but the devs still said that the map was going to change regardless of the fact that the pros stated that the map topography and items layout was in perfect balance.

So in regards to community feedback being a thing here on Halo Waypoint, I think it is about as mythical as a sighting of Bigfoot riding Nessie while playing jazz with a saxophone; mainly because of how they have conducted themselves in regards to showing a basic respect to the community over the past decade.

I am seriously hopeful that the company gets a thorough assessment by Microsoft and is reworked to be the best version it can be.
Because right now as it stands, this is the third game in the row that the fans had been lied to and the second time that 343 has released a barely functional product.
Here’s hoping that like with MCC, they get some major assistance from 3rd Party studios that can help patch up the holes before this ship sinks.

The halo community anywhere has never been relevant. Literally the only thing i can think of 343 ever listened to the community about we debloom in reach. Seriously the only good decision they have on their track record from what can tell.

the point what i miss also is that the moderators do not join the discusion in the communety.
since some off then have done that in the past on some topic’s.
then you have in interaction with the communety.
there can see things about a topic from a diffrend why but joining a discusion about it with the players.
and sometime’s there can use the normal threads to clear things up normal without locking then also at the same time.

the official feedback threads there make means not always there are going to care about it.
since we also make feedback threads about things like the campaign and so and there ignore that also.

I would have to disagree with many here unfortunatly!

343i do listen or shall i say did lol actualy thats been alot of the problem beacuse so many just wanna take the game back in time! lol wher they have been before time and time again ! and its not what devs want they wanna get creative thats what they live for new ideas and be apart of something of there own and new ! unfortunatly most of us are just stopping that evolution and also most of the ideas are fuled by personal agendas that is not what we all want in reality its got to the point where we are just tired of talking about it now .

They do have some pros making these decision also so maybe they just use them now days.

great point .
Imagin one came on tho he or she would not end up leaving the desk hahahahahah and probs resign LMAOhahah

We need to genuinly support our devs and maybe they would be willing to come on and talk to us more and share ideas in harmony .

We just need to move forawrd from the H3 era and come up with some real new crative and timeless ideas that are worth considering! its time to move on guys and all be on the same page …

that some of us wane see that halo most stay in the halo 3 time with notting new is something 343 not has to explane or join the discusion since thats more between the communety it selfs more to keep discusion about it.

but the other things there need to join more.
take the crossplay discusion or the Xbox VS Pc discusions things like that are now the good exemple things there can join in.
same with the campaign mode idea’s people have what there maybe wane see in the campaign mode since its a open world so you can add a lot off things in it to make it more fun where there not have think about it in the first place.

Really appreciate this response, thank you

I will acknowledge and say that I have seen a response to community feedback on Halo Infinite, it is simply a matter of determining where it has come from

Those being: adding the Team Slayer playlist, somewhat player collision against enemy team, adding Fiesta BTB to the social playlist rotation etc

I have personal thoughts on the playlist rotation system, but that is for another thread’

Thank you for bringing those points forward regarding “343 typically ignores their fans and audience, even mocking us at times with a superiority complex”

I do see their perspective, however agree that they have a duty to take the higher ground and not succumb to that negative attitude/feedback; that being counterproductive & not constructive. They may be getting a ‘haha’ at ‘getting back at them’ but at what cost?

I feel that what tends to happen is that only a certain majority of feedback will adhered to, only at connivence or opinion of the development team. I agree and do appreciate this, however when there is a majority of the community leaning toward a specific idea or opinion, then it is definitely worth addressing

Referring to other ideas, but what I feel is and was most important to the community at the time: Halo Infinite NOT being released with Forge or Split Screen. Understanding that corporate interest would be tied into the mix, but the community needed a proper and official address for this, not just a sentence in a Halo Infinite update video

Thanks again for the feedback @RamboBambiBambo, appreciate it

@RBaziFX great point, completely forgot that 343 did that for Reach. Looked it up then’

@Spikanor I agree that there should be more interaction from the moderators on the Waypoint Forums, as that’s how they were recognised in the first place

I feel that they do not owe anyone anything however, as they be far more busy and are only able to dedicate so much time to Waypoint without burning out

This is a perception as I don’t know what it is like be a moderator, however from personal experience, this doesn’t mean that people have to burnout from being in a position of ‘authority’ and then have to eject a majority of their time as a consequence; it’s a matter of how they handle themselves

In conclusion to this point, idealistically, I feel that moderators should spend more time on the Forums and interacting with the community

I also really appreciate your different opinion @Desi_br , hence the whole reason for this thread

I am glad you see it differently and from the perspective that you do, as there are some things that I agree with

Most specifically… 4 THE LOVE OF HALO :party_on:

Thanks again for your feedback so far guys, looking forward to reading more of your feedback, insights and perspectives!

Says the guy that is Hellbent on bringing thruster back as standard equipment. If anyone wants to take back the game in time, it would be you.

Reads title HAHAHAHAHA Oh hell no ever since the redesign i feel like they don’t even look at the forums anymore and leave it to the monitors

I feel like social media platforms are the best way to give feedback as the general public also uses it and aren’t afraid to signal boost
