Do you expect a cliffhanger?

Since this is the middle act of this storyline, do you expect the game to end on a cliffhanger? If it does, by the end do you expect something to go horribly wrong and the pieces have to get picked up in the next installment?

I feel like it’s almost a given that there will be some sort of cliffhanger.

Too many subplots for it not to.

It would have to be a HUGE campaign for it not to have a cliffhanger. Looking forward to E3.

Huge cliffhanger, with all or most of the sub plots coming to a head in Halo 6 (or whatever they’ll name it)

Halo 6: Attackers

I hope not but it’s probably gonna happen  Halo 4 concluded well, so maybe. I want the legendary ending to be the only cliffhanger, then it’s fine as it is just a bonus to the story.

343 is kind of mirroring the original trilogy, so I will not be surprised if they give us a gigantic cliffhanger. But I don’t think they could ever top Halo 2’s cliffhanger.

I want it to end so abruptly that it throws everyone for a loop. Just imagine Lockes team and Blue Team in a final showdown after many encounters, the battle is winding down and as the fighting reaches an all time high, a new giant threat emerges. The threat is destroying both teams and it focuses on chief who is on the ground out cold. It zooms in on Chief’s visor then it cuts to black. Only one line of dialogue from a mysterious, unknown voice that says “Is that all you’re capable of Reclaimer?”

It may piss people off but it leaves you wanting more.

Well if there is a cliffhanger, I expect it to feel like this in presentation.

I think they’ll get rid of the numbering system altogether in Halo 6. It will likely be something like Halo:Reclaimers or something of that nature.

There is going to have to be a cliff hanger, not just for this game but the next as well. Remember this is no longer a trilogy but a saga. More than three games will play out this story arc.

My hope is that the cliff hanger isn’t as abrupt like H2 was.

It would be nice to see the closing scene to Halo 5: Guardians. Fade to black, and then have another scene open up to a voice: “Did you think me defeated?”. The Didact- as his voice transitions slowly, melding into the sound of the Gravemind. Oooooooh there’s so much they could do. The possibilites for the informed reader of the fiction are VERY exciting to think about.

Nah abrupt is good if you can pull it off. They could go with an ambiguous ending or straight up cliffhanger.

Didact’s new Forerunner ship exits slipspace above Earth
Random marine: “We got a new contact, unknown classification!”
Hood: “It isn’t one of ours, take it out.”
Chief: “This is Spartan-117. Can anyone hear me?”
Hood: “Isolate that signal. Master Chief, you mind telling me what you’re doing on that ship?”
Chief: “Sir, finishing this fight. Again. For the fifth time. Maybe I should’ve taken that vacation you offered to me sir.”

Meanwhile Arby, Locke, Blue team and co are all wondering where the hell this new Forerunner installation is while on Gamma Halo with Chakas.
