Do you care about k/d or stats in general?

Title.^^ I personally don’t really go for a good k/d, I just play to… well, play lol. But there’s always people bashing others for their low k/d or whatever. So what do you think?

i try to at least keep my k/d no lower than 1.00 other than that, im good with it

There’s always going to be a sense of elitism in online video games. People will still have large egos and feel the need for douchbaggery.

Now that online rank is gone, kill to death ratios have become more important for gauging players skill. Not saying this is the only thing that goes into factoring skill though. This can be argued endlessly.

nope. I really don’t care about my stats in Reach. I just play and whatever happens will happen.

I never really played attention to my k/d, but it is a nice addition to the service record. Players shouldn’t bash others on their k/d alone. Someone can have a horrible k/d but still be high Onyx League.

Honestly,I don’t mind about my K/D really. I do like to see myself improve to try and be better though, and its a nice sense of accomplishment when my K/D does rise.

In Reach it is the only real way to tell someones skill, but then again they could play a gametype such as Griffball where you can get a lot of kills or a lot of deaths.

I play for fun so I don’t care too much, but I do like it if I can get higher than a 1.0

I like to win at every aspect of life, and halo is big hobby of mine, so yeh i care about stats

I also bash people for low stats only when they proceed to make comments about how th egame should work. EX people sayign bloom is fine. Bloom IS fine if your kd is below 1.3, and its only fine because you are such a bad player you dont even notice it. Bloom becomes a huge issue when you are good at the game Onyx and above and 1v1s become a crap shoot, which they do.

Its like what opinion is more relevant in baseball, that of the pros or that of a little leaguer ? yano

I only care about MY K/D and as long as it stays above 1.00, I am fine with it.

I don’t dare judge anyone’s K/D as with things like Grifball, Action Sack & Full Party Boosting being ok, it’s inaccurate.

thats why you check their playlist kd+ time played like in squad or TS, not their global KD

Oh btw, I happened to notice these “ratings” I believe after each match, what do they mean? I got the same as someone else on my team, I had 11/5 k/d and he had 12/11 k/d, what does it indicate?

In h3 I never paid attention to it since winning was all that mattered.

But in hr I do. There’s no incentive for winning since you gain exp/cR no matter win or lose.

I know this sounds like i’ma -Yoink- but I play for self when I play with randoms. I’d rather lose and go positive 20 than win and go negative anything.

In CTF/Assault games I play defense. You will never see me going for the flag or bomb. I’m either camping with ac/sniper combo or ac/shotty combo.

I know, lol.

And this brings up one of the very downsides in Reach, I shouldn’t have to go to my computer to find out if someone is good at this playlist or not, heck, even then the results are still inaccurate, they could have full party boosted on the playlist they were playing on.

Nothing is reliable when it comes to stats.

I don’t care about my stats at all. And I only care about other people’s stats if they went -10 or worse in Team Slayer, at which point I’ll leave “lacking skill” feedback which doesn’t harm that person’s reputation.

K/D means everything in predetermining a players skill before you’ve played him in a game without rank. I’ve never looked at someone with below a 2.00 and thought that I might lose to them. I rarely go negative, and at that I rarely go under 1.3 a game. I try to get a 3.0 a game to even out games where I do play badly.

When was the last time I cared about k/d? Hmm…
sits back thinking
gets a thounsand yard stare
leaves room lost in thought

I nearly always care about my stats and to improve my k/d, but I don’t play to do so! I always go for the objective, not matter what it is or if it gets me killed. I don’t let it affect how I play the game, I just try and do better.

I don’t think people are bad for having a low k/d either.
