Why show what master chief looks like? Let people think what they want of chief?

They already showed what he looked like as a child in a comic or something. People’s appearance drastically alters between childhood and adulthood. Especially if you’ve been through war and augmentations etc. His face would be VERY different, and so I don’t mind.
I’m pretty sure they only showed the back of his head when he was a teenager though so I see no problem with it. The face we saw when they were about to receive their augmentations was someone else.
EDIT: Yep, just checked. The tattoo on the writhing spartan’s arm who’s face we saw was 013. Just checked the wiki and can’t find anything about a spartan-013. Probably either one of those who failed, or one of the unnamed ones.

His face was shown once in a comic. Looked similar to that of the young Chief in the trailer.
Remember as time passes the appearance of a person alters.

We haven’t even seen his face yet, only when he was a child. They kept his face hidden through the whole trailer.

My guess: To get us into the fact 343i is trying to show Chief’s humanity. Most of us are used to a human-cyborg just running’n’gunning through ‘‘de wort worts’’

They dont show his face. Only in childhood. All scenes (expect for armor preperation) was made in first person, so everything is okay.
He’s already been described thoroughly in the books, plus his face is still a mystery, them close ups were when he was around 4 and 15, he’s 40+ now.
Anyway, how can a persons FACE be that mysterious anyway? He’s human, we all pretty much look the same.
We only saw the back of his head, that really doesn’t tell us much.
