Lemme get this straight (correct me if I’m wrong), Halo 4 is going to have custom loadouts, reduced health, join in progress matchmaking, no 1-50 ranks, and no fixed weapon spawns on map.
Who wanted this? Did 343 even read the forums? I’m pretty sure the majority of people wanted the gameplay to be more like Halo 3. NOT CALL OF DUTY!
Halo is dying. It is straying further and further from the things that made it great. It will never EVER be the same without 1-50 ranks. With the system as it is now, and apparently is going to be in the future, we are going to continue to be paired up with people that aren’t at our skill level.
Halo has always been about winning. It’s been about getting the top rank in every playlist. That died off with Reach. And now more than ever with Halo 4, winning will not be the main priority. People’s main focus will be EXP and kills, like it is in COD.
Hopefully all of this information is completely false. Lemme know if I’m wrong.
I agree with OP. I dont know about the others, but i didnt want this. 343i need to get a grip, stop being all secretive and listen to their community. Halo 3 was ten times the game reach was, so maybe they should take a page from Halo 3’s book…

A lot of people hated Halo 3.
Yeah, a lot of people have their -Yoink!- in a bunch over the additions to Halo 4, but honestly, we have no context for these changes and additions. I would propose that people wait for some actual gameplay and game details before passing judgement.

Why? What does blind hatred and raging accomplish? Nothing.

You’re wrong. At least, I haven’t seen them say no ranks; and no fixed weapon spawns on maps. Some weapons will drop into fixed points on the maps; not all, some will still be chilling where they’re placed. And this should be configurable in forge, so that some maps/playlists can ignore this aspect (feeling a “classic” or oldschool type playlists). And there’s a good chance what you’re thinking of as “custom loadouts” and “join in progress matchmaking” is not the same as what will actually be implemented. What we have so far are a few words from a couple of people who saw part of a campaign level and played 2 gametypes. That’s it. Those gametypes aren’t in a playlist yet; which could well be divided into things like ranked/social, which can then override/negate loadout choices and other things.
