Do we need an in-game poll added to Halo 4?

Obviously the majority of the halo players don’t come to these forums.

Maybe change the poll every 2 weeks.
Like in one week ask what playlist you would like added and the next time ask what weapon you dislike the most.

Any questions,comments,complaints.

I think the best way to get feedback from the game is stats and playlist population/voting data. A lot of people would still not do a poll and would be annoyed it was there.

I think the problem with this is that the great majority is highly ignorant of game balance and technical limitations. At least the forums provide some degree of filtration, however weak it may be.

I just don’t see any data collected from this as being useful in any way, every playlist would end up being action sack.

I don’t see how a poll will really help.

For example, there could be a poll asking for ranked vs not ranked playlists.

EX.

Would you like team Slayer ranked or not ranked?

1)Ranked

2)Not Ranked

polls should only apply to the people who actually understand the thing that they are voting about. without that crucial requirement, you will have skewed results because of the massive colossal amount of people who would vote without having the slightest idea about the voting options.

you dont see NASA handing out polls to people on spacecraft design.

the forums are a better place for feedback. on the forums you can say ‘NO. BAD.’ but no sensible person will listen to you. on the other hand, on the forums you can say ‘no, because of this, this, this, and this’ and people will probably listen more because you actually gave non-terrible feedback that shows you actually put some forethought into the subject, and have SOME idea of the implications of the mechanic in question on the rest of the game.

Maybe it should be restricted to people who have lay a certain amount of time and are required to reach a specific level.
It can also ask for a comment based on the question asked.

Exactly. The process of finding problems from the game should look like this:

  1. Looking at gameplay data
  2. Looking what the people who understand have to say about it
  3. Identify the problems by perception

Forums may only be a small fraction of the player base, but they still possess more understanding than majority of the player base. Forums also have to ability that if someone complains about something that isn’t actually a fault in the game, we have the ability to corredt them.

I always tought that Bungie underestimated the reliablity of the feedback that comes from the forums. Hopefully 343i would trust us a bit more.

An in-game poll is a great idea.
