Do we need a BR

Do you guys think Halo infinite needs a battle royale? Personally, I think Halo Arena style play and BTB is perfect the way it is and we don’t need a BR what do you guys think?

Really depends on how it’s implemented. I thought Warzone was going to be trash, and it ended up being on of my favorite modes. As long as it’s unique enough to stand out from other BR type games, I’m not opposed to giving it a go.

But at the same time, I won’t shed a tear if it isn’t included.

War zone was definitely very fun and quickly was one of my favorite modes.
i also agree with a BR needing to be unique. How it should be unique is unclear to me because I’m not a dev and won’t pretend to be one. But halo has always had an atmosphere for big maps/battles. Dropping from a pelican (or bigger ship  ) with a fire team of friends and trying to be the last one alive would fit halo well.
but if it’s not a launch, infinite has a strong gameplay on its own and I can live without it. But if it becomes post launch content, that’s just a sweet deal!

Yeah warzone just needs to feel as important to me as arena is with all the upgrades infinite can bring your kd should only count towards killing Spartans with better reqs when killing ai.

When I see BR, I think Battle Rifle.

I fully support a Halo BR, but I think they’re should be some sort of distinct Halo twist to it.

I’ve posted in other BR threads this idea, for example, that at points-of-interest, a squad should be able to lock another squad into a slayer match in that area. A 2 minute round timer would start, first squad to 10 kills gets to stay in the BR match afterwords, and gets a big loot drop after their win. It would need balancing and tweaking, but that’s the basic fundamentals of my idea to infuse Halo DNA into the BR match outside of just the weapon/ equipment sandbox

Another one…BR mode does not belong in Halo. If people are that desperate for the mode then wait 6 months after launch and make it in forge.

I don’t think it suits Halo’s playstyle or artistic design but I’m not opposed to trying one of they make something really special. I prefer 4v4 or big team.

Same…
My original thought about the matter was that 343 will probably let forgers do their thing but now that’s postponed I wouldn’t be surprised if they have something prepared for like season 2. I really wouldn’t miss the mode however as a dedicated list. Halo has so many great game types already that I hope will be a staple and not rotating (like triple team, crazy king, husky raid etc)

Halo specifically needs to stop trying to chase trends. every time they’ve tried to chase a trend it’s damaged the franchise. No Halo doesn’t need a battle royal, or a battle pass, or loot boxes, or an in game store, or advanced mobility. It doesn’t need to copy Call of Duty or Fortnite. It just needs to be Halo. And at this point I don’t think 343i have a clue why people like Halo in the first place.

I think additional game modes are always welcome as long as they do not sacrifice other modes for their spot. The more variety the better and I think Halo could have a unique take to BR and it could hopefully bring more gamers from other BR communities to the Halo community which would be nice because a bigger game population will only encourage 343 to keep up the quality and content updates. It is never a bad thing for a game to introduce new modes to attract new players as long as they do not sacrifice the original content that the original players enjoy more. I has been about 6 years since Halo 5 and what a drought it has been (aside from the MCC season updates). All while many other Battle Royale games flourished and continuously provided their fans with new content which kept them coming back and kept the games alive. People love to hate on BR but it is still relevant and successful for a reason. If 343 wants to add that in addition to the classic modes, then I say that’s awesome. If you want to play it you can and if you don’t, then you don’t have to.

no. please, please, no. Atleast not yet.

All a BR in Halo would be is FFA 1 life matches on a massive map with a lot of players.

You can already do a 16 player BR in every single Halo game with just custom settings. And if Infinite doesn’t have it natively, you could do it with 24 players either way.

The only extra BR related fluff that might be nice is using ODST drop pods to select where to spawn, a mechanic that causes sections of the map to no longer be playable and force players together (flood infestation or Banished glassing parts of the map away come to mind), and having the weapons, equipment, and vehicles be randomized around the maps.

I remember how fun halo reach hunger games was back in the day. battle royale could definitely work in halo.

Was about to come in here all guns blazing to defend the battle rifle lol.

I think a battle royal would be cool and interesting to have, but if it doesn’t have one, I wouldn’t care.

Same here, for a second I thought it meant Battle Rifle and it gets very confusing when talking about a Battle Royale as BR.

No, we really don’t. A Halo themed game built from the ground up for battle royale could be great.

A battle royale tacked onto any given mainline Halo game will be hopelessly compromised mediocre mess that won’t do the concept of a “Halo BR” justice. Mainline Halo is simply not built for BR.

I personally would love a BR, “What about the sniper it’ll be OP” Not wrong there, implement bullet travel similar to Fortnites snipers. Everything else is perfectly balanced for Spartan V Spartan action.
I’d be quite disappointed if we didn’t get one.

I don’t think it needs one, at least not now.
I’m open to there being a battle royale though. The real question is how they’ll pull it off. There are opportunities galore as to how 343 could completely revolutionize the battle royale game mode.

No but we need a BR starting weapon playlist.
