DO U WANT PERSONAL ORDNANCE

Do you want personal ordnance in Halo 5?

No

No, it ruins the flow of the game in many, if not all playlists it’s featured in.

If it only drops ammo and nades, maybe…
But after all, I guess it’s just best to scrap it.

No. I think this was worse than the personal loadouts with too much to choose from.
Personal ordnance would have been better as ammo drops. Maybe.

Leave it in for Firefight. But for everything else, just scrap it.

Nope

Now THIS I wouldn’t mind, I’d more or less work like regular Firefight, weapons respawning in the places but it’ll give it a little more challenge to get that rocket launcher that has spawned near the incoming phantom.

But for anything other than firefight, NO!

No.

In Spops/Firefight, YES

But in anywhere else? NO

> Leave it in for Firefight. But for everything else, just scrap it.

I could definitely see that as a alternative firefight gametype. Ordnance drops are already dropped around the map. Could be a gametypes where you get your own Ordnance, which could consist of weapons or power ups. I think adding lives, power ups, and personal Ordnance could help liven firefight.

^^^ Agree with Spops too, should it ever be continued

If you have nothing more to say than “Yes.” or “No.”, select your answer in the poll and leave. If you feel like your views aren’t satisfied by a simple yes or no answer, then comment. But please, don’t fill the comments with “yes” and “no” responses, those don’t offer anything to the discussion, and will be considered as spam.

Worst thing about Halo 4.

I don’t think a mechanic like that has any place in a AAA fps title, let alone Halo. If it was a non random point/currency based ordinance system I could see it working, but Halo should stick to pick ups, that is Halo.

Will Smith said it best.

No personal non-aesthetic rewards systems. Ever. For any reason. No matter where, or who, or who you are with, or where you are going, or where you’ve been … ever. For any reason whatsoever.

The only thing that came from POD’s were frustration, snowball effects, complete randomness, excessive explosions that resulted in Halo 4 running in 15fps a lot, more randomness, encouraging of camping due to alleviating the need to change your position, preventing the losing team from making a comeback, and complete and utter frustrating gameplay.

In other, nonspammish words, NO.

There were a few things that I like about Halo 4’s MP, and Personal Ordnance was not one of them. In fact, I’d argue that Personal Ordnance was one of the worst, if not the worst, additions to Halo.

One of these treads again…? Well, at least I think I’m on the side everyone wants me to be this time…

NO! (Yes, I know, from a Halo 4-lover like me, it’s hard to believe I said that :P)

Let’s start off with something simple: the SAW. Would have been a nice little weaponry addition.
If only after the first 2 minutes of the game, every single person in the game had one via personal ordnance. Aside from Ragnorok’s spawning every minute SAW-drop system, that was the killing factor for that weapon. Too big of power, too little rarity to it.

And when it comes to personal ordnance, here’s were I clearly agree on the unbalance of the game.
Threre were people with every power wep in the game. There’s a shotgun camper up there… let’s try and shoot him out from a distance OH NO HIS GOT A SNIPER TOO.

From the wonky requesting system (I can’t tell you how many times when I started playing H4 that would order stupid grenades instead of the weapon I wanted; I still sometimes do), to even nearly killing yourself when the pod explodes five inches away from your face, personal ordnance was just bad.

Why does this guy keep posting topics in all caps? It’s a bit annoying.

OT: no.

I would answer Yes if the question was followed by either one of the following phrases:

  • …to be removed entirely from the game

  • …to be used only in SpOps or Firefight.

In a cooperative game mode like Firefight, this system can be used to encourage players to not die and speed up the game.

However, in a competitive game mode such as Team Slayer, it does the most harm in the game by flooding the maps with power weapons, and creating a snowball effect that has been greater than the previous games in a one sided match. It also harms JiP greatly as players do NOT get equipped with weapons to combat an powered-up team, causing players to quit.

Finally, this feature drove both hard-core fans of the multiplayer and the casual players, away from the game due to the absurdly random outcomes. It never rewards players equally, making it possible that you could get everything right and still be wrong because the game said so.

For PvE setups, POs can be a good thing. For PvP, it’s terrible. It screams frustration and inhibits learning. I prefer it gone.

My answer to this and to if i wantperks back as well.

Aside from adding randomness wich hurts gameplay as well as flooding the maps with power weapons i seen no benefit in its inclusion nor return to the halo series.

In the past players who lost control over the power weapons only had to deal with the 2-4 rockets or 4-8 sniper shots as punishment for having lost that battle. But it was over after those shots are fired. Now thanks to the ammo perk and POD the time for that punishment for losing is greatly increased to being 20-70% of the match should 1 team be better than the other. This is part of why some matches are already decided upon within the first 100 points. There is no chance to fight back.

@OP since this seems to be the nature of your threads recently is to ask if the community wants things we have been for the most part against which has resulted in some members breaking the rules. I ask that you stop posting threads of this nature.

because when people would look at the list of topics, there’s only 1 or 2 in all Caps :stuck_out_tongue:
