DO U WANT CUSTOM LOADOUTS

Do you agree with custom loadouts in Halo 4?

would you want custom loadouts in Halo 5?

i agree because for me players must have the possibility and the liberty of choose their favourite game style. I think in a game of next gen, players must the liberty to do what they want.

No

preset loadouts are definitely better. so i have to go with a no.

I don’t want halo turning into call of duty, so, Nope

I disagree with Halo 4 loadouts because of Tactical Packages, Support Upgrades, Sticky Grenades, 1sk Boltshot, and, I guess, AAs.

I’m not giving up on the idea of choosing your own loadout weapons, though, especially if they’re adequately balanced. Or if 343 gives us preset loadouts for gametypes/team sizes/maps.

Nope and I hope they never return.

Eh, not really.

Unless they take out long range rifles, plasma nades, plasma pistol, pocket shotgun and perks from loadouts.

Pre set loadouts for certain gametypes (i.e. Invasion), sure. Custom loadouts, no.

Meh… perks could go. But I like being able to choose my starting weaponry. Maybe if they tweaked a few things (decrease normal EMP time, only one Plasma nade per loadout spawn), I could see them working. Heck, AAs are already out of the mix, and that was a big head-roller on custom loadouts.

I wouldn’t mind if they returned, but with a few changes of course.

Not at all. I play Halo because it is intended to be an arena shooter. If I wanted to play a class based shooter I would go play Titanfall. Some games work as an class based shooter and others do not. Halo does not work as a class based shooter.

Definitely not. Everyone should start with the same traits, weapons and equipment.
Everything is on the map, everyone have equal opportunities to gather whatever they want from the ground. Fair and balanced gameplay, just don’t screw up the map design and sandbox and the rest will be fine.

For gametypes like Invasion (hope it will return!) Spartan Ops or Firefight, of course, loadouts are a nice addition.

I want a mode with no Loadouts that has it’s own set of playlists. That said, I would also enjoy a streamlined set of Loadouts (no perks, no AAs, no PP and PG and BS) with some new secondaries (SMG, Plasma Rifle, some new guns maybe). If I had to choose one over the other I’d go with no Loadouts but I would personally prefer two separate sets of playlists (because I think Loadouts can work).

IMO there’s a right way to do it and I don’t think 343 will even have to stray far from Halo 4’s system in order to create a strong, solid load out system that works. The debate of loadouts should never really be a debate of what would work because I believe that both systems can work. I think it’s more down to what each player finds more enjoyable and the arguments that sprout from the topic seem unnecessary to me.

Anyways as to why I personally think they should be given another shot. The first thing we need to do is think about all the factors outside of load outs that really hurt their implementation. Sprint, Descope, poor map design, weak vehicles, PODS, high aim assist, lack of head shot multipliers on automatics, THERE’S A LOT OF THEM!

Then we need to think about the things inside load outs that hurt them. The PP having EMP capability, the Boltshot, two PGs that were too easy to use, the only weapons that were even close to being correctly balanced were probably the BR, CC and Magnum (I can go into a lot of detail regarding this one), Armor mods and all those little annoying things they screw up and change, THERE’S A LOT OF THESE TOO!

When I take all of these problems out of the equation I see an intention that 343 had, and it was a really good, balanced and original intention that would be different to other load out shooters and open up Halo’s weapon sand box in a way that stays true to the core competitive experience that we come to Halo for.

Now lets imagine what the load out system 343 wanted to give to us without all the mistakes would look like. I’m sure you’d agree with me when I say that it’d look very different. Perhaps so different to the point where we can’t even say with certainty that it wouldn’t work.

I think that perhaps we should give 343 the chance to learn from their mistakes in Halo 4 and let them try to build their system again but without all the flaws getting in the way of what the load out system could have been. Halo’s given mechanics second chances in the past with cases such as duel wielding and AAs. It only seems fair to give this mechanic the same treatment and see if it works out on it’s second run.

And I really hope that load out supporters start voicing their opinions more often. I’ve seen enough to know that load outs have a strong amount of supporters, it’s just that it’s hard for them to have a united voice when everyone has a different opinion on how load outs should precisely work. Even with the use of the word “custom” probably leaves people feeling uneasy. There’s a lot of different ways that loadouts can be done and it requires people to have to go into so much effort and detail to make their points heard. Just look at how much I’m typing when there’s others above me that can state that they don’t like loadouts in one sentence and I didn’t even go into detail on what I want Halo 5’s loadout system to look like. If I were to do that I’d probably make a post three times this size.

But of course loadouts or not, players should always have the option to play on identical starts, it’s just that I think most of the game should be built around the concept of loadouts.

P.S I’ve been needing to ask this because I know it’s gonna come up and I need to get my feet planted in what I believe regarding it if I’m going to continue supporting loadouts like this. Can someone please provide an official definition of what makes an arena shooter? Because from what I’ve heard an arena shooter needs to be in a small arena type battleground, have weapons to collect on the map, and equal starts. All three of these things are still achievable with loadouts. Has it ever been specifically stated that an arena shooter must have identicle starts?

I don’t really mind them provided that they’re both weapons only and aren’t segmented between “primary” and “secondary” weapons.

Also if there are playlists/gametypes without them.

I’d like for it to be much more limited. Too many options available and we’ll have gameplay features, such as vehicle combat, become broken and cheap 1-shot kills.

Too much freedom and the community will break the game. If they’ll break a with glitches, such as the perfect camo glitch happening in Halo 4, they’ll break Halo 5.

Loadouts for Halo are UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Nah, It should go back to being Halo.

No, I don’t want them at all, I don’t care what you can do to balance the feature, it’s not needed in a Halo game.

they do, its called pick up the weapon.
