Do the Pros Like Halo 5?

Do they really like Halo 5? I ask because I saw a video about a guy talking about how bad Halo 5 is with the new mechanics. He talked about how one of the pros only plays Halo 5 for the money and doesn’t think its fun and wants the classic mechanics to come back(no sprint, spartan charge, thrusters, smart link/smart scope and ground pound). Is this really how all the pros feel? If thats the case, then there are a lot more people like myself who want the classic mechanics to come back than I thought.

Teambeyond forums would be a great place to get your anwser. It’s mixed tho when you see their views. Some like it, some don’t, some think it can be fine with some tweaks. Best one is ogre2 saying h5 isn’t a halo game but as a game on its own it’s ok.

Yeah I kind of feel the same. If it wasn’t a Halo game, Halo 5 multiplayer wise would be a good game on its own. And honestly if 343 wants to make Halo 5 more competitive for the pros, they’d take off sprint and all the other abilities because you’ll have to be more critical about your movements and you’d have to think more. That and taking off radar so you’d really have to rely on your eyes and ears.

First, this isn’t something new to you

But it’s really weird Ogre2 would say he’s disappointed in H5 yet sees H3 with such great hindsight, or dislikes large changes.

> Ogre 2
> MLG: What are your favorite elements of Halo 3?
> Ogre 2 Claims the 2007 MLG MVP award
> Ogre 2: I enjoy the reduction in auto-aim. That is pretty much the only thing about Halo 3 that I greatly prefer over Halo 2. Actually being able to be down a few shots, and turn around and out BR somebody is a great feeling. Other than that, there are many things about Halo 3 that I don’t mind, but there really isn’t anything else that I’m absolutely loving, other than the fact that it’s something new to play.
>
> MLG: After playing three seasons of Halo 2, what’s it like to switch over to Halo 3? What elements are similar to Halo 2? Which are different?
> Ogre 2: To be honest, Halo 3 isn’t a whole lot different from Halo 2. I was a little bit disappointed because of this. Going from Halo 1 to Halo 2 was a huge change, because the games are almost nothing alike when it comes to game play. Switching from Halo 2 to Halo 3, there are just new maps and a few new weapons is all that really feels different.
> The game play itself, the physics engine and the way the weapons work, I almost feel are worse than in Halo 2.
>
> MLG: Why is that?
> Ogre 2: When I played the Halo 3 beta, I felt like the game was “incomplete”, the movements all felt awkward and stuff. It’s kind of hard to explain, but anyway, I was hoping that was just because it was the beta, but now the real thing came out and the multiplayer is identical to the way it was in the beta.
> For example, there is less auto aim, but at the same time the hit-boxes are messed up pretty badly. I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but the hit-boxes for the body are huge, and you can hit guys with the sniper while not even aiming on them, like by shooting past their arms. Head shots aren’t really harder to get, it’s just that you have to aim above the guys head instead of actually on his head. There are just a bunch of little things like that that make it feel like it’s incomplete to me.

> MLG: Maybe similar to how Halo 2 was before the patch?
> Ogre 2: Similar, but even worse I’d say

While I may not to get to play much, I love watching Unyshek play. He shows what happens when you don’t let you own mentallity hold you back… But free your mind!

Most complain on stream, take that as you will.

I see the pros comment on Teambeyond and on Twitch.

Things I don’t hear them complaining about:

  • Sprint (except for a couple from Europe)

Things I’ve heard selected pros complaining about recently:

  • melee registration issues
  • server disconnects or server lag
  • server locations putting those playing from the west coast and Canada at a disadvantage during pro league matches
  • The fact that stasis CTF is included in Pro League
  • Too many power weapons on maps and their placement
  • The sniper is too easy to use
  • Spartan charge needs to go
  • That Pro league matches should be streamed on the Halo channel
  • Radar
  • That the game has no true LAN capability (without 343i’s involvement)

The rest of the time they spend sledging each other on a more personal level.

Things Teambeyond members complain about:

  • All of the above plus anything else you can think of (they do make a lot of good points though)

What they appear to actually want:

  • Halo 2 gameplay with a better matchmaking/ranking system
