For some reason the campaign demo shown at E3 reminded me a lot of Metroid Prime. Even the Promethean guns remind me of stuff from Metroid Prime. The very lush jungle landscape reminds of of Tallon IV as well.
Anyone else getting this vibe?

Never played that game before.
Same reaction also the prometheans look like space pirates. and the reason could be that franke said some people that worked on metroid joined in for halo4.
Totally, the unique enemy style reminds me a lot of Metroid Prime, and I have a feeling Halo 4 and this whole new trilogy has some serious potential campaign wise. I don’t think you can get a better FPS experience than MP, and if Halo 4 can resemble a little of that, then it’s all for the best.
The campaign strongly reminds me of Metroid Prime.
And that, my good sir, is a damn good thing.
Yeah, but it’s cool. I love Metroid. :3
Depends on what you’re talking about.
Promethean Knights remind me of LEGO Hero Factory Characters mixed with 40K Warp Spiders.
Promethean Crawlers remind me of some Rahi from Bionicle.
Halo is no stranger to borrowing ideas.
If Halo 4 is an Xbox Metroid Prime, I’ll change everything negative I’ve ever said about the game.
Glad someone else noticed this. That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw the demo. Game is looking great.
Why is everyone calling the enemies Prometheans?
Is it confirmed?

Yep. Look on the main page. Now, the guys seen in the demo aren’t Forerunner Warrior-Servant Prometheans like the Didact, but artificial contructs, like sentinels. They are all called Promethean, however.
yeees! and it´s great! when 343i said it was going to be “darker” i never dreamt about something like this. probably the best “colorful ambiented” fps´s have had a baby! yeaahhh!

Hero Factory, lol. Yeah, I agree, it does look like Hero Factory a bit. I’ll always be mad to see it replace Bionicle. Loved Bionicle when I was like four or five years old, still now.
First thought when i saw those new enemies was… ‘‘The heck 343i have you been playing Crysis 2 again!?’’
wow…I’m disappointed in myself for never playing Metroid Prime. I had the games and everything I feel like I’m missing out :(, gotta get to those games soon

Hover your mouse over the new enemies.
OT: never played Metroid, but I’ve peripherally watched the series progress over the last decade or so. Didn’t notice it myself, but soon as it was mentioned I saw the resemblance.

I feel you, dude. I still have shelves filled with Bionicle Figures. Sadly, Bionicle didn’t make as much as LEGO needed it to make in those later years.
For me, Hero factory is a worthy successor, but no where near as good as Bionicle was.
