This is why you see Armor and Skin together and I’ll explain this.
The armor is just a basis to show off the skin.
The skin itself is what you will be getting when you pre order and yes, you can change the color if you thought the examples were ugly :).
The final nail in the coffin that Halo 4 supports individual customization is that if you pre order from Play.com or Angry Ape, you’ll receive the Dead Eye helmet (play.com) or Locust Helmet (AngryApe). These are individual armor pieces, not skins. So why would you have only armor that’s pre set skins and have two unique helmets ready for pre order?
Conclusion: The skins are just another feature to customize our armor with and in no way suggests that we can’t mix or match armor pieces.
