Do Spartans Take Showers?

Just a stupid, random thought I had. You don’t have to take this seriously.

If we’re not meant to take this seriously, the answer I’ll give is “no.” 343 Industries supposedly took a shower scene out of one of the novels when they reprinted it in 2010 or so. We can infer from the only spartan shower scene being removed that whether or not Bungie intended for it, 343 Industries has decided that spartans do not shower.

Actual answer: They’d have to, yeah. They have to get clean somehow. While I’m sure there’s a ton of fancier ways their contemporary technology could accomplish cleanliness, it’s probably just cheaper, easier and more pleasant to hop under a shower head and scrub.

That’s what I was thinking. It was either, yes, they do, or the armor somehow has a deoderizder or something in it so they don’t have to.

If they didn’t, they’d be dirty and smelly so I’m going to say yes they do.

Going back to what I had said in the post before, I had imagined if they didn’t there would be some sort of deodorizer or cleanser built into the armor.

If you take into account that most of the Gen2 armor is manufactured by several different companies you’d think one of them would have come up with that idea.

would the cleanser/waste exit the suit? Where is it stored in the suit? Do you realize Spartans don’t live in their suits 100% of the time?

I imagine while inside the armour, no, but outside of it, yes.
The suits kinda have temperature moderators, so it keeps the body at a comfortable temp, but once outside they’re just like everyone else exposed to the world/worlds.
Just a theory, but still having fun

From what we’ve seen in gameplay across all the halo games, taking a shower would be a death sentence. They probably lick themselves to avoid the hazards of inches-deep bathtubs.

Yes.During "The Flood"Chief took a shower.

During the novel Halo the flood chief takes a shower.

Much like modern militaries the UNSC would likely have showers built at bases, firebases and outposts for the troops so the Spartans could those use between missions or even between battles if the situation allows it but outside of that it wouldn’t be unheard of for the Spartan to go days and in some cases weeks without bathing.

I’m guessing that when Spartans are not in active combat roles, they would work out, shower, and socialize with other Spartans in their down time just like regular soldiers

Yeah i’m pretty sure Spartans take showers, you probably can’t smell them through their armor but still have to say yes that they do.

I dunno, whenever I’m in the game and I go into water, I die. Seems Spartans are pretty vulnerable to water. lol

So very true.

Spartans don’t wear their armor all the time, they like to but don’t. If you read The Flood which is a novel set during the first Halo event, following Chief and human survivors on the ring. There is a talk about Chief taking a shower. They are still humans so yes they do take showers. Its not something that would typically displayed in a video game though. they also eat but that isn’t discussed or shown in the video games. Simply put, just cause it doesn’t appear in video games doesn’t mean they don’t do it.

I’d imagine they’d eventually WANT or NEED to take a shower.

Odin only knows the amount of slime or sweat build up occurs under the base layer suit.

They don’t feel it on them, but they’ll know it when the suit comes off. It’s unhealthy for the skin to NOT get any sunlight.

Which makes me wonder, can Spartans get sunburnt?

Why wouldn’t anyone want to take a shower? they feel great!

I’m going to go with yes, they do. But I also don’t think they have to as much as most people because I imagine most of a Spartan’s diet consists of a weird protein paste and lots and lots of vitamins. And our diet plays a large part in how our bodies smell. So they probably don’t smell nearly as much as we do (and it’s probably a lot harder for them to break a sweat than it is for us.

As for where does all of their waste and sweat go? I think their suits recycle a lot of that, purifying a lot of it in the process. I hope.

Why shower when you can use extreme body odour for biological warfare against your foes.

Tell that to the Chief. He’s so pale he puts Edward Cullen to shame.
