Do Spartan IVs render ODSTs useless?

Think about it: since there are so many participants in the Spartan IV program, why use any other form of military force? I can understand the ordnance can be a bit expensive, but it MUST be cheaper than previous versions right?

If I were to predict it,
Time + advancements in Technology = More efficient tools at higher quantities.

now I know this wouldnt make sense gameplay wise, with the game being easier and you feeling less like THE supersoldier, not to mention the lack of ally veriety, but since infinity is enrolling all these spartan IVs from normal marines and ODSTs (not to mention they dont have to risk killing them in augmentation) wouldnt it just be better for UNSC to just switch all military infantry to spartan IVs?

(I do not want nor expect there to be a surplus of Spartans in Halo 4, nor do I want ODSTs and marines not to make an appearance.)

I’m sure they will still be needed because they are much cheaper than Spartans.

The more the merrier.

Well for one thing the UNSC is seriously in need of funds seeing as they just went the the biggest war for humanity in recent history. And just like with any advanced placement program the IVs will still have to be trained and augmented over a reasonable period of time. So it doesn’t seem feasible that everyone in the military would just be upgraded.

seems like a reasonable prediction. I forgot that after pretty much every war, countries would go through some sort of depression for a while, set themselves back a few years. That’s why the brutes are on the brink of extinction, they fight so much :stuck_out_tongue:

Why use ODSTs? The answer to that is they cost less. The issue isn’t what force is better at getting the job done. The issue is how long do they have to train, what does it cost to train them, and how much does their gear cost?

This is kind of like asking why don’t the modern US or UK militaries replace their standard infantry with Navy SEALs or SAS respectively. . . it’s a matter of money and time. It takes millions of dollars and years of training to make one Navy SEAL or their equivalent. I imagine it would cost even more if we were to supply them with advanced robotic suits as well.

ODST’s are cheaper to build or create. War takes up a lot of resources, time, and money.
