Do Spartan 4's protect ONI bases?

I’m reading up on my Spartan’s helmet, and it says it is part of Enforcer armor. As described on Halopedia: “The Enforcer armor was manufactured by the Imbrium Machine Complex in Ankara, Mare Imbrium, Luna. As of May 2553, all ZULU-Level classified ONI sites required security details to wear fully operable Enforcer-class armor, as tested under Ankara Field Stricture BL58-0 and approved by the Ordnance Commission. It provides specific benefits to those engaged in defensive maneuvers, those operating from a localized site, or those sent into enemy-held locations, but has been proven effective in many other scenarios such as reconnaissance or scouting.”

So…does this mean they use these very expensive and highly trained S-2 knockoffs for simple base defense? Or does ONI employee non Spartans to wear the armor as well? If the latter is the case, that goes against the whole reason for giving Spartans MJOLNIR armor: normal people aren’t strong enough to use them. This question also goes for any other armor with similar descriptions.

I thought spartans and non spartan personnal are doing it together.Would make the most sense for me.And yes normal people are not supposed to wear the armor.
Corrections are welcome

If they would throw a line in something along the lines of “this particular armor had a downgraded variant for non Spartans to use” it wouldn’t be as big of a deal as ignoring the issue.

Not necessarily, Spartans (their augmentations and power armor) are becoming increasingly privatized as of 2558. Not to mention, semi-powered offshoots of Powered Assault Armor is still a thing - and there many variants of SPA in usage between Spartans and non-augmented combat operators. The fact that the Enforcer has a SPA offshoot shouldn’t come off as a surprise to anyone. The main differences between base PAA and SPA would probably be some kind of inhibitors that are placed to protect Non-augmented personal - probably some kind of hydraulic system versus the muscle/reaction replicating suite that Spartans use.

Maybe zulu level classified sites are all in hostile areas.

Yes they are tasked with the protection of important areas sometimes. And according to a canon fodder article (not gonna go look for it) Spartan IVs can requisition different armor sets for different missions. Spartans in game just wear the same armor for our convenience. But in this case any Spartan given the duty of watching over a ZULU level classified ONI base must requisition and wear Enforcer armor.

I have always imagined the various sections of ONI have had their own private Spartans doing work for them, hence number discrepancies amongst the II’s and I’m sure more than just Noble et al were taken from the SIII’s. Also yes there are semipowered suits like Nightfall

Cough Cough Kilo 5 cough

It’d probably depend on availability, to be honest. There’s only about 500 Spartan IVs, as far as we know, most of which are stationed aboard Infinity. If something really critical was going down, I’d imagine they’d be on-site. Otherwise, ONI Security can probably handle it.

Well with the relative ease and limited selection criteria for Spartan-IV augmentation, I bet ONI has its own set of augmented soldiers.

An ONI site is probally more protected by secrecy and they have their own marines. Although if you go by kilo 5, security sucks.

I don’t think un-augmented personnel are able to use Mjolnir. Case in point: Halo 5: Guardians Air Assualt description. It says something along the lines of “Modified air assault suits were considered for use by un-augmented Delta 6 personnel, but each suit costs as much as a dropship.” Correct me if I’m wrong or if I mis-quoted, but it seems to me that baseline Mjolnir cannot be used without augmentations, leading me to believe that Spartan-IVs are used as base defence.
