‘it’s the sidekick’ minor word change, but close enough. either way, we’re talking about the SIDEKICK, right?
perhaps it could’ve been made clearer. but i digress. i do agree. they shouldn’t need to be dropped, no requirment to drop.
but also… they should have some downsides to make them ballanced. also they’re the starting weapons, surely they’d want to make the other guns in the sandbox shine, right?
H3 had the best AR, having to feather constantly for further range, whiles being devastating in close-mid. but due to the downsides, the player would THINK and strategize about considering to drop it. a good, and reliable, starting weapon. or is h3 too nostalgic and old for you?
in infinite, there’s no thinking, as there’s no purpose to drop it. no reason to ever drop the AR unless it’s for a power weapon or maybe explosives. no real downsides. it carries the player, like training wheels. the thought never came to me (unless i was purposefully meme-ing or not trying) ‘should i drop this gun?’
if anything, the sidekick is more ballanced than the AR. i consider which precision weapon i swap with, which path i’l take in the map for close or far range. if i’l be rushing or defending, as it’s good in cqc. i think ‘should i drop it?’
i mean, by your logic, if i understand it correctly. because the sidekick is the SECONDARY it should be dropped, right?
so if we’re putting primary and secondary names to weapons. then the AR should be dropped instead of the sidekick. given how there’s a lot of ‘primary’ weapons. like the commando, BR, pulse, stalker rifle, power weapons, etc…
those are technically ‘primary’ weapons, right? i mean, who’d be a fool to have rockets as a secondary? right, no one. you’d have them as your primary. whiles using your secondary in the event you can’t use your primary
but also, you’re right, as the same could be said the otherway around. huh. almost like there’s no ‘primary and secondary’ weapons in halo. they’re interchangeable
