It’s just something I notice when viewing certain armor pieces where the shoulder pads are smaller. They’re placed too low on the arms and look like they’re glued on.
Is it just me?

They do seem a bit lower, leaving your shoulder/top arm exposed. I didn’t like that design change myself.
yea the venator shoulders look so out of place
shoulder pieces generally look awkward on most sets
It’s so the wearer has a full range of motion. Before 343’s Gen 2 armor, spartans couldn’t raise their arms above their head.

Yeah. I prefered back in Halo 3/Reach where most of the shoulder pads actually covered your shoulder.

Well they could. I don’t think they minded the shoulder pads clipping through their heads lol.

343 minded, so they changed it. They wanted it to appear more functional.

Makes sense, but still looks odd. My old Commando shoulders from Reach would be fine I think

More boring.
.
well the difference between a common helmet and an uncommon helmet is a stripe

Haha that’s true

> Well, I’d say that’s not true, given that nearly all media stipulates and illustrates otherwise; some armour pieces would have prevented it, but the vast majority weren’t intrusive, and they actually looked like armour.
Well, it is true considering that’s exactly the reason they gave. If you think their reasoning is off you’ll have to argue that with 343, I’m just answering OP’s question.
Overall, I like Gen 2 armor, but I think it’s the reason why we now have colored undersuits which I’m not a fan of. I think (no way of knowing for sure) 343 felt that these new drooping pauldrons left a lot of open space and made the armor look sparse and less protective. So by coloring the armor in between the plates it creates this illusion of more actual armor. Like, Gen 2 would look even weirder with black undersuits. Again, not saying this is true and if it is, what would be the harm in giving us the option to look that way if we wanted?

Yeah, I guess they just weren’t fans of polygones clipping each other on the same model like in all the past Halo’s. I get it–in 2015 that kind of thing could be considered sloppy.
YES. Some pieces of armor even float. Look at the hands of the Shinobi armor when you hold a sword. The part that protects your hand is literally floating about an inch above your hand.

Lol. When I get Shinobi armor I gotta remember to try that. I got the sword stance already.
