When this game first came out I played my swat placements. After winning 7 and losing 3, I was placed in Onyx ranking. After taking a month break from this game, I returned yesterday to play more placements. I played Swat and carried everygame but only won 5 lost 5. I was placed Gold 2. After this, I played my breakpoint placements. I won 9 and lost 1. I was placed Gold 1 from this.
Did 343 make a cap on how high you can be placed? Or is this just bad luck?

When did they add this? I am not complaining. Personally I did not deserve Onyx ranking at all.
I think the December update fixed it. My head was so swole I thought I was MLG pro 420 gamer fuel, but nope, I’m just barely gold/platinum

Yeah, that was in the December update. There were a couple of playlists especially - SWAT and FFA - that were putting way too many players into Onyx. That’s probably what you’re seeing here. I was in the same situation.

Not a cap, placement matches place you based on how well you play in addition to wins. That’s how you can do 10 placement games with your friends and they’ll be different ranks than you.
