Even if i dont like that function, i would like to know how often people use it.
for myself , i only use it with the sword since it give a greater lunge range. but i dont use smart aim on any or the gun since i use halo 4 controller setting and it doesnt give enough advantage in my opinion.
also, what controller setting do you use? ( sensibility, mode, ect)
I do not use it with every weapon, but I try to with most of them. It just depends on how accurate your shots will be without using Smart link.
It’s great for the sword and the hammer, it greatly increases your lunge range.
For my controller I use the recon settings with my sensitivity on 6.
I only use it in warzone. When in arena, I’ll use it for the sniper, hydra, sword, shotgun, and scattergun only. You are more accurate if you shoot from the hip with the remaining normal weapons.

Whoa, 6? My sensitivity is down to 1. How do you play at 6 and not feel disoriented? XD
As for smart-link, I use it when the situation calls for it (Plasma Caster lock-on, Hydra Launcher, Sword, etc), but if I’m in a duel or just unloading with an automatic, it’s better to just shoot from the hip (unless I’m using suppressive fire with an auto at long range, then obviously smart-link).
I use it for almost every gun at mid-range. Close range not so much, because turning becomes an issue, but overall smart-scope helps the automatics get shots mid-distance so long as they don’t shoot back.
I hate to throw the obvious answer at you but it depends on the gun and the distance to the intended target. There are also numerous jumps on maps which become easier or possible with smart-link. Although, I’m not sure this is applicable to the context of your question.
In terms of your second question, 4/2, 0 deadzones and default for the rest.

I’m used to it now, it’s thanks to the aiming which has become a lot more difficult for me. I’m still having problems with aiming sometimes. And thats not thanks to the sensitivity! ( I hope, haha! )
Almost every weapons after mid for the autos but more for long range precisions I am rerrible at the magnum smartscope. It bugs me visually having the gun up like that.
i feel that for precision i use it as much as I used zoom in the old games. Try not to abuse it.
and sensitivity 3 deadzone 0 and accelerator 1 and bumper jumperrrr

Depending on the situation I would say yes. I’m more likely to use it on scoped weapons, but it can give a quick edge to an AR/SMG battle.
definitely depends on the situation. I refuse to use the sniper rifle because I just find it too wobbly and wonky to handle a times when it comes to this new aiming system.
instinctively use smart link for all the weapons which traditionally had scopes in the older games and also for the railgun and hydra.
every other weapon i do not register the existence of smartlink until i accidentally trigger it (i use halo 4 button layout too), unless i just use the smartlink to simply scout out ahead like a pair of binoculars like how it was in halo 2 onwards.
I used it when it makes sense on all weapons.
i use halo 4 control scheme, 10 sens horizontal 10 sens vertical, 5 acceleration 0 dead zones inner and outer.
Work in progress, need a few data points added/corrected (verified between more sources), need to make it look nicer, but this should help think of what can “dominate” and where;

Yes

Smart Link makes no sense…in every other shooter, when your getting hit you don’t automatically get pushed out of the hard scoping mode. I don’t understand why this is a good concept? It makes using smart link infuriating cause half the time your pulling on the ADS trigger and due to enemy fire, look like a chicken without a head trying to get a sight on your target but the link won’t come up.
Again, another great idea poorly executed, it only took 5 years to get this far for 343i, maybe in another 2 they’ll figure out how to make all of these additions flow properly.
