Do people talk in this game?

Setting aside all of the issues i have with halo 5, what devastates me the most about this game is the lack of communication. As i go into matchmaking by myself it’s typical to have maybe one teammate with a mic. Half the time i’m playing i feel like im just playing with AI’s.
And i understand halo & xbl have changed throughout the years. People now are in party chats, listening to music, dont want to talk to toxic teammates, etc.
But to not communicate/call out while playing a competitive game just doesnt make sense to me. And for those toxic teammtates you do play with it takes a second to mute them. Now im not asking my teammates to be making HCS callouts. But just saying “hey i lost rockets at blue base” or “a guy is camping around the corner with a shotgun” really makes a difference in close games.
Am i the only one running into this issue?

Agreed, some simple callouts would be useful.

To be fair the fact that a red X pops up when a teammate is killed by a camper with a shotgun will tell you where he is.

We NEED people tp put their mics in, let’s get this post some popularity to get peoples’ mics in. If you see this post, make a comment.

touche’

I run into people who talk all the time.

A lot of the time people have their mics muted and won’t speak unless spoken to first, so I try to make callouts anyway.

Some people get into party chat (because 343i refuses to let you speak to your fireteam while in lobbies), but they never switch to game chat once the game starts. This is annoying since you can easily do it from the scoreboard screen.

I talk… in a party chat. After a game, if I feel like a teammate is worth teaming with (for whatever reason; massive k/d, lots of assists or just on top of powerup timing) I’ll shoot them an invite to the game and party.

But the amount of abuse you get from randoms on xbl isnt worth the headache. Everything from mic echos, to kids crying in the background, to abusive language, to loud music.

Sorry guys, but the novelty of talking to players from all over the world has worn off in the last ten years.

I admit I’m usually in party chat but usually go into game chat and at least do a mic check to see if I can encourage people to talk.

thats why i started going on halolfg and doing custom games most people there have mics

If I have a power weapon I usually try and stick next to a teammate also, so when I die they get it.

I talk.

Its more or less saying “That’s Bull#$%@” over and over since i’m the only one with a mic…

I try to call out base captures, but thats about it…

I find the majority of players in Team Arena and Team Slayer have mics. However, they are usually in party chat or have themselves muted. 99% of the time I run with a team of players with a similar skill, we all know what we’re doing and are working as a unit rather than running around the map like it was btb. When I play with randoms it feels like I’m playing basketball with a bunch of mutes who don’t even communicate nonverbally.

Long story short find friends that use mics and run with them.
