do people still farm on warzone?

been a few months since I last played regular warzone. Give or take 1 or 2 games I played in the last week I think. I haven’t gone back to it because of the whole tryhard farming situation. If that’s not a thing anymore I’d for sure go back to playing warzone. I still love playing firefight and assault though. So do people still farm or is the new trend everybody running around with prophets banes and tartarus’ gavels due to month of mythic haha

Most likely people still do, though it might have toned down due to most of the companies having Achilles

Same here.

Since the debut of Warzone Firefight on June 29th, I haven’t played a single game of standard Warzone. Prior to that, I had logged over 1000 matches of that game type! It is really a shame, but you didn’t need to be Nostradamus to predict that Warzone farming (and especially the full-team Spartan Companies who did it) was going to tangibly hurt the playlist population.

yes

We still farm, but the meta game is to only cap 2 bases for key reasons:

  1. So the enemy team thinks they have a chance and don’t quit out.
  2. If they do quit, their ranks get replenished faster if they aren’t trip capped.
  3. Slower point trickle also extends the farm by allowing more spartan kills before the game ends.

Also, AMA.

I didnt play after firefight was released, for the same reason. Have been playing for the last two weeks and out of about 50 games only be “farmed” maybe once.

That’s a shame.

As an Onyx-level FFA competitor, you are obviously more talented at Halo 5 than the vast majority of the community. It really doesn’t bother you that you (and your notable Spartan Company) are intentionally ruining a social game type for casual players by dragging the game out 3-5 times longer than necessary?

You do know about this thing called karma, right?

I think the new thing is btb. I have been spawn trapped and farmed in about half my games by Spartan companies. It’s not bad if it’s slayer but when it’s capture the flag and half my team quit and the other team isn’t going for the objective it kinda sucks.

That spartan company is known for farming. Dictionary says Farmer (noun) - a member of … spartan company

I haven’t played warzone in a long time because of farming.

Every time i decide to play warzone its a farming game, and i end up quitting. Recently started playing wz assault, but i still long for regular warzone.

It does. But the only way to fix the problem is to make more people complain to 343 about it. Obviously it’s rampant but no action has been taken for the past year. Which means they do not consider it a priority. I’d like to be able to queue up solo too but it’s just not possible. You can’t fix the problem by turning a blind eye to it.

Let me share with you an anecdote. I once was part of a forum where it was against the rules to sell your wares outside of the designated area. Occasionally, someone would fill the forum with their own ads but it happened so infrequently that no one would enforce the rule. Soon more people started catching on the no one was going to take action if they started spamming too so they did, and this annoyed the majority but the site owner still did not see it as a nuisance. (He wasn’t on much so it wasn’t a big deal to him.) I knew nothing would happen unless we took action, so I encouraged as many people as possible to spam the -Yoink- out of said forum by doing the same thing the offenders did until everyone not involved had an opinion on the matter and they brought it directly to the owner. The trading rules were enforced shortly after.

The moral of the story is 343 will only take action if enough people make it an issue. And the only way to do that is to turn up the heat until the pot reaches a critical point.

I am doing it for your benefit and people like you. See above.

So that’s like saying the way to stop crime is for us to go on crime sprees to force law enforcement to take tougher action. That’s just you using a garbage argument attempting to justify your actions. Farming has substantially dropped off in the past few months. If your company and half a dozen others stopped doing it then farming would be pretty rare.

That is fairly decent rationale, but unfortunately there seems to be some overriding circumstances that debunk your theory.

First and foremost, where Warzone farming is concerned the “complain until they fix it” ship has already sailed. If this was 4-6 months ago, that might still be a reasonable tactic to employ. Back then these message boards were flooded with complaints, people were banding together to report the perpetrators for Unsporting Behavior within Xbox Live, and in a Community Update on March 11th Bravo emphasized that “We do see that it occurs enough that we want to find the right adjustments to steer all teams away from this style of play.” Six months later, nothing has been implemented to help alleviate the problem and the damage has already been done: I personally know of at least 30 people on my XBL friends list who either refuse to play Warzone or actually quit Halo 5 completely, primarily because of Warzone farmers.

Last but not least, in a post earlier today you were quoted as saying that “…you’ve never experienced the full happiness of warzone farming. (On the farming side).” That doesn’t exactly sound like the words of someone who has noble intentions for the greater good of the community.

You’re not really doing it for our benefit though really are you? You’re doing it because you’re a selfish -Yoink-. Why do you have to make playing video games a bad experience for others? Most people play games to have fun and you and your company and everyone else who farms are taking that away from us. How dare you try to justify your actions with such BS! How dare you spoil a game for many others who simply want to enjoy playing the game.

Oh well in that case, I will be doing TONS for your benefit if I ever catch you in matchmaking.

I try to end the match by killing Warzone bosses. I get kicked out lobbies because of it but I feel as if we’re dominating, end the game dude, farming sucks to be on the other end especially with no team.

but its fun for the other team :stuck_out_tongue: Me personally Idc if people farm or not cuz its all in the game like people stalling the last point in CTF for kills and this is coming from a solo player so I know how it feels to get farmed lol

Firefight where its at

The community here on the forums and the quitting population heavily disagree with the fun. I admit, sometimes I find it fun I get to use all those REQs I never get to use, but when 3/4 of the team is quitting maybe it is a bit unfair. Then again 343 lied about teams facing teams.
