That idea just seems ridiculous to me. How can anyone think halo3 needs updated graphics? I doubt 343 would waste their time.
I think it’s more about the facts that;
- MCC is/was a mess and people are still dying for some proper classic Halo, refreshed properly.
- Halo 3 is and was the most popular Halo title and people want to see it remade.
- it is the 10th anniversary in 2017. With Gears 4 for 2016 and Halo 6 most likely set for 2018 for the 3 year dev cycle, releasing a remastered Halo 3 in 2017 actually makes a lot of sense.
The timing and the situation of it all lends itself to Halo 3 being remastered.
I believe it should be done. Wars 2 is the 2016 game. Halo 4 wont be ready by 2017. Fill in the blank.

I’m also with you! The only thing I would love to see is maybe having Blur re-do the cutscenes for Halo 3… even if they just made like a “Directors Cut” movie with the graphics of the cutscenes of H2A… that would be lovely! But the game does not need a remaster of any kind. We have MCC… all my Halo goodness on one console.

Halobugs seems to say otherwise. And that is for just Combat Evolved. Who knows how many bugs there are with H2C, H2A, H3, and H4 multiplayer. Better internet has nothing to do with it, and it is rather condescending on your part to say something like that, since it is very obvious on this forum page that there are still many issues with the MCC. If anything, you need to get your opinions and feelings on the state of the MCC out of this “factual based” conversation, since it is a fact, based on the evidence from all of these posts saying how broken it is, that the game is still buggy mess.
And yes, Halo 3 is the most popular Halo game to date. Over 12 million copies sold, the largest amount of any Halo game ever, and had the largest player retention in a Halo game until, surprisingly, Halo 5. Since people keep asking for a Halo game that is consistent with the classic games and is a logical sequel to Halo 3, I think it is safe to say that Halo 3 is the most popular Halo game ever.
Plus, dat motto “Finish the Fight”.
I would love to see something like this if I believed that it wouldn’t be super buggy and in need of patches
343 will make it regardless of whether it is needed or not because people will buy it

Just because you have low standards doesn’t mean everyone else does. The cross-game playlists remain cancerous. Host migration is still broken; games still end when the host quits. The matchmaking system in the ranked playlists is nothing like the ranked matchmaking system on the original games. H2 still suffers from the H2: Vista spawn system. It’s been months now and the screen/viewport glitch has not been patched. Achievements sometimes do not properly unlock; achievement progress has been reset for some people on certain achievements. Halo: Combat Evolved is still using the Anniversary sound effects file set (some of which are low quality, with recording and compression artifacts), not the proper original sound effects. Both H2 and H:CE have map geometry problems. Certain NPCs in the H2 campaign still cannot properly dual wield. That’s just a sampling of some of the problems still present in the MCC.

I hope you are not referring to Halo: Online, because it isn’t a Halo 3A.

As others have covered me on. This isn’t a problem exclusive to me. It has nothing to do with my internet. There are a higher level of bugs and design flaws with the collection than in an average release, including cross game playlists. That is not an internet issue. Trying to pass off issues I (and others) have with the game as simply “get better internet” is extremely ignorant and undermines your entire post.
And yes Halo 3 was/is the most popular. It had a huge following in it’s day. Higher than any Halo since. And yes, if you play Halo MCC on any cross playlist you have a higher chance of playing Halo 3 than any other title. Why? because out of the titles available players seem to prefer it.
None of what I said was about emotions but given evidence (however flawed it can be given the state of the games and the community) that out of all the active classic Halo players, most seem to be leaning towards Halo 3.
It is likely said that 343 will be doing a Halo 3 Anniversary because a remake takes less time than a new title does, Halo 6 is estimated to release in 2018, Halo 3 is likely to release in 2017 because it does mark the 10 year Anniversary of Halo 3, the MCC one really doesn’t count as an Anniversary because it didn’t release after its 10 year mark. Even MicroSoft Game Studios is thinking about doing it, but we will have to wait until either later this year at Gamescom 2016 or until E3 of 2017 when they say more about it & confirm it.
I just want Halo 3 to come alive again. I miss everything about that game. Campaign. Matchmaking. ODST. And all the people you met and made friends with. The long nights coming home and playing until you fell asleep.
I wouldn’t really be expecting a H3A, but it would show that 343i really cares if they started considering H3A as an idea.

Hmm, solution to all problems huh? I tried playing Co-op MCC last night , some serious input lag for who-ever wasn’t host… my solution, I changed the game. Tried Gears UE Co-op, some Dying Light, and neither had that issue.
Edit: your GT shows you haven’t even touched MCC.
They won’t do this for a long long time. No-one will play anything else.

You are correct that people want the original Halos back. However, one must realize, they screwed up H2A and MCC as a whole. Why should 343i be trusted ever again for any Halo title? Bungie needs the license back to Halo.

Just got me an Xbox 360 and old Halo games. I am never going back to a 343i game.
