I have been hearing people talking about the returns of Firefight and Spartan ops, but i highly doubt that ether will be returning and you shouldn’t hope they do.
Spartan ops was a disaster on the 360, Games were full of delay lag and finding good partners was almost impossible, not a very good reply value, and not to mention that the second half of spartan ops needed to be downloaded.

Do you really want to wait 2 years for another firefight mode? I will almost be crushed if i see that the only form of game play they added besides Campaign and multiplayer is another firefight game mode. This should’t really even be arguable, if you really think about it making a return of firefight in Halo 5 is a horrible idea.
Their has to be something new, something really new. I don’t really know what and i’m not asking for the impossible without guessing if its even possible but their is time to think. This is the perfect time to make some sort of revolutionary game mode that changes the face of halo. New generation of consoles and technology, The first next gen halo, and i just have a funny feeling that this one is or should be different.
Halo is on the edge of becoming as infamous as CoD for its repeditiveness, their has to be some real innovation to make halo fresh again. Now like i said i’m not asking for the impossible, but just returning firefight or another season of spartan ops would be a disaster.
Disagree with you completely here, bets are that one will return, and I hope that both do, as there really isn’t anything else you can do with co-op, as they will all be VERY similar experiences. Oh and BTW, Halofollower is garbage, DO NOT LISTEN TO HIS BLASPHEMY!
I don’t know about taking them both out completely. I do however agree that sometimes it gets repetitive. I don’t want them to just throw out Spartan Ops. It has great potential of expanding on the story and introduce new characters. I do however believe it needs to less linear on how you approach objectives. Also, the idea of streaming everything is just awful. I hated how you needed to be connected to watch a cut scene, I guess it works though, after all it’s a Gold Exclusive content.
As for Firefight, I want it to be like ODST and Reach. I enjoyed the way you had to watch what you was doing as an ODST and I liked how you can just go in guns blazing in the Reach version of Firefight. I also enjoyed the customization for the player voices.
As for something ‘really new’ I don’t have any ideas other than different game types and such.
I really hope that Halo Xbox One’s campaign will be more of an Open World Shooter. Yes I know that’s a big change for Halo, but it really seems to be popular upon Next Gen games.
Why not lots of people like them and it offers replay ability.
Halo is no where near cod level for repetitiveness. Using that logic isnt battlefield the same stuff. They both keep old stuff and present new stuff each game so its hardly carbon copies. Using your logic should halo 5 have no old weapons at all especially the AR and BR since they’ve been in numerous games.
Plus halo follower just posts videos of speculation all the time and not actual news or facts, he’s very unreliable.
I almost stopped reading when you linked to Halo5Follower (no offense to the dude but I disagree with everything he says) and I actually stopped reading when you said Firefight shouldn’t return simply because it appeared in two games.
I won’t even try to talk sense to you, the others are doing a good enough job.
There is one reasonable thing they can do. Skip both Firefight and Spartan Ops and restore the campaign to it’s original glory à la Halo CE, 2 and 3. No one would ever say a year after release: Oh hey lets play some Spartan Ops or Firefight. A great campaign however can last more than a century.

Or not since we have both a good campaign and both FF and Sops
I wouldn’t mind Spartan Ops returning if they didn’t recycle all the maps so much, then they just giving you a different objective while playing. I would rather have fresh content on each level.
Firefight was just plain boring, but thats how I see all ‘Survive endless waves of enemies’ like Zombies and Horde.
SpOps is better,as it has relevance and significance to the story as well as something to work towards. As a guy who loves the lore, this is 100% better for me.

Main menu’s and soundtracks have been in prior games, lets scrap them too!
We should also should just not make a Halo as Halo games have already beeen made!
Both should return using the same maps as a single editable feature (carry over with firefight maps and BTB might be something to consider as well). If you take something like spartan ops and had options to disable story, objectives, and infinite lives, with the addition of even more options for waves of enemies and such you could have both firefight and spops, as well as new and better things through custom options. Changes for the better should always be additive. I don’t give a -Yoink- if you and halo5follower didn’t enjoy firefight. That doesn’t mean that the shouldn’t exist for those that did. Hell invasion could even be included in this new editable gametype. Play PvP or against waves of bots–you decide. I for one really liked playing PvP generator defense in the reach beta, that could also be an option in this slew of editable customization. Just dream of the possibilities.

Yep and many people that play those “boring” game modes have fun with them , otherwise they wouldn’t be so popular . I liked firefight in ODST and I liked Sops and so do many others in the halo community , if you don’t like them don’t play them.
