I really hope 343 isn’t building up Thorne to replace Chief, I really don’t like the idea! I know we may have to give Chief up eventually (unless he gets zapped by some Forerunner tech that makes him invincible) but I don’t see Thorne as our new hero.
P.S. While we are on the subject don’t kill off the Arbiter! First the Keyes, then Johnson, then Cortana please don’t make this a trend!

I know but I can’t help worrying.
As much as I love Halo I will quit playing and sell off all my Halo stuff if they kill off the Chief. Thorn is cool and all, but he is not a hero on the same stature that John-117 is at.

All I know is that Halo 6 needs to be the end of the Chief. Don’t get me wrong I f’ing LOVE the Chief but there is so much more to this universe that it would be cool to start seeing it from different perspectives. I’m not saying that Thorne should be the new guy, I’m not saying the Chief needs to die, but Halo 6 should be his last rodeo.

Just like Sangheili fans thought their Elites would return to playability, just like ODST fans thought they would return, and just like everyone knew Cortana would never be replaced. Lets face it when it comes to the new Halos none of the things fans have come to love is safe!

All the Spartan 4s are not heroes of the stature of the 2s and 3s! Spartans used to be noble and enigmatic but now they are anything but.
Spartan Thorne acts like a spoiled kid (As do most of the characters in SOps in my opinion, exepting Palmer and Lasky), and he is not even remotely good enough to replace John. If they have to replace the Chief, then I hope they use Kilo-Five and BB as the replacement.

Palmer, Kilo-5, and BB aren’t worthy to replace Chief either. The only two that come close would be Noble 6 and Spartan 4 Rookie from Halo 3 ODST.
343 made a point of turning 117 into super special rainicorn messiah 9000.

yeah i was a little ticked off about that… if they kill off arby they will have an entire armarda of halo fans they will have to awnser too! cause everyone loves arbiter!
plus who doesnt like playing as energy sword wielding sanghelli

If they keep Chief on this path of making him a blabbing human with no good one liners anymore then do it! chief isn’t the same. It’s evident in the first dialogue exchange in the campaign. “Ready to get back to work?” is said with tones that suggest a courteous request. not the battle hardened way of talking chief has always had. So kill him off before you ruin him or bring him back to normal (normal for him)
