DO NOT Let the Jetpack Return!!!!!

The Jetpack offers no unique gameplay…and just allows random people Flying around…no that is NOT how Halo should be.

The Jetpack SUPPORTS Hidden League Gaming (AKA Hiding)
This was a big problem in reach…as Bungie did not fix the kill boundaries well enough.

If you tried lunging at a person who had a jetpack, they would fly upwards…thus making your sword completely useless.

This happens in DMR battles as well, where a jetpacker would just Fly OVER you while you struggled to kill him. He would go over your vertical field of view and come up behind you, while continuing to rain bullets from above while you struggeld to turn around and find that flying pesky thing.

IN CONCLUSION: the Jetpack is a NUANCE…It has no purpose other to annoy people in Halo and does not belong in halo…as it completely breaks the fact that the better player will win a fight against a lesser skilled player

Jetpack is a fun toy. Good to have in the play pen(reach) w/the binky and the tickle me Elmo, but not in Halo.

Who are we to say how Halo “should” be?

We are the consumers, not the creators. Jetpack is fine, I’ve never had trouble killing a flying target before. If anything the Jetpack makes people MORE vulnerable, not magically invincible as you seem to be suggesting.

Jet Pack breaks maps and if a whole team knows how to abuse it, they can destroy. Jetpack is fun in custom games, firefight, and campaign, but in matchmaking, it is just as bad as Armor Lock. Besides, who needs a jetpack when you have thruster pack?

343i always has our input in some of their decisions…this is why some of us played it at E3 and at SDCC

Halo has become a game for its fans…and we should have an input.

The jetpack is great. But people will always find something to whine about.

> The jetpack is great. But people will always find something to whine about.

It breaks maps and let’s people go where they are not supposed to. The high ridge on Hemorrhage is a prime example of this. Someone would grab the sniper, use the jetpack to leap out on a ridge where they were barely visible and could see the whole map, and snipe to their heart’s content without the worry of being shot back at. There is a reason that place was kill-zoned (albiet two months later after serious complaints).

I don’t use the Jetpack, so I’m not bothered by it.

No fall damage breaks maps, and yet people still wants fall damage gone.

explian how it is not halo i bet u ask anyone here who played halo 2 or 3 and they rember elite are brutes flying around and if you suck so bad you cant hit a flying target then well that your faught i use jetpack and it not op usualy if u not careful 4 enmemy will look up and rain dmr up on you using the jetpack gives you a hight andvatge at the cost of cover

that not the jetpack fault it the map design oh ps i can still get up there without jetpack you can sprint up it

No, so much wrong with this.

Not really. Worked in Halo 2 and 3 just fine.

What, so just because I see you running my way, and I hide behind an obvious corner (that somehow you didn’t see), and kill you, makes my taste in Abilities moot? I don’t even know anymore. goes back to reading about ling-ling’s head

I am a jet pack user now, and during matches with the clan I’m now in, we all use jet pack, and it completely changes the way the game is played.

It breaks all forms of map control, you can gain map control at the click of a button.

If the enemy has the high ground advantage/control, all you have to is jet pack up, this is also another case of breaking map control.

It completely negates cover, should someone run behind a wall or a rock, you can simply fly above them and finish them.

It’s too easy to abuse with sneak attacks, should you start shooting someone not facing you, they won’t have a clear indication as to where you are, thus making it practically impossible for the person to fight back before he dies.

It makes weapons like the Rocket Launcher ridiculously Overpowered, it also allows you to avoid people with weapons like the Sword, or Hammer, it also makes it too easy to kill Vehicles like Wraiths

It also prevents you from being splattered simply by pressing the thrust button, not like before where you had to dodge and jump, is that really that hard?

While I hate fall damage, it’s in the game, and if everyone has no way to avoid it, why should someone who chose Jet pack be allowed? It allows for breaking a (dumb mechanic in my opinion) that everyone else has to avoid.

As someone who can use jet pack to good potential (still use sprint, I want that gone too) I really hope Jet Pack gets removed.

Edit:

I forgot to add

In close proximity fights, it allows you to avoid being shot in the head, if you’re directly above someone in a DMR fight, they have no clear hit on your head, meaning you can survive and get a kill quite easily because they’re not able to one shot you after your shield has popped.

Thank you sir…you have some sense…

I really don’t see how a Jetpack would work in Haven however…which may imply that it isn’t returning (Hopefully)

I added another point about fall damage

Of course they’re going to keep jetpack. Almost every decision they’ve made has been a detriment to the quality of Halo’s core gameplay.

> The jetpack is great. But people will always find something to whine about.

When you fail to understand the reason behind complaints you will always perceive them as mere whining.

> Of course they’re going to keep jetpack. Almost every decision they’ve made has been a detriment to the quality of Halo’s core gameplay.

Haha. Teh funnies r 2 much.

But they’re not going to keep it; they replaced it with thruster pack, which is more like evade than jetpack.
