Is there anything more annoying than going up against a party and getting your behind thoroughly kicked?.
Well yes there is and that is having the parties hidden as 343 chose to do with Halo 4.
So in future don’t hide parties.
It doesn’t fool anybody and just adds to the frustration of going against a party as a random.
Parties and clans beat up on randoms so there should be a indicator on groups so that you can avoid them if you so choose

Or a Halo matchmaking/ranking system working as it did in Halo 3?

One thing 343i has a lot to learn about is playlist structure, but I believe they can pull it off with Halo 5.
ya getting paired against teams of the highest rank in a halo game has always been a problem but at least in halo 3 and reach you could tell they were all playing together and make an educated decision on whether you wanted to play that game or not based on the people on your team. thought i’m sure they did that to prevent people from quitting and the matchmaking system can only do so much. i’d at least like to see some form of party indicator return if they cant rework the matchmaking system to rectify the issue.
Agree w/ OP.
Sometimes, groups can be downright mean… I remember the time I went against a group of Spartans United Guys. It was pretty funny, they were obviously just trawling for stats…
I didn’t let them do that to me. Last I checked, I was the only one on my team with a positive K/D.
I assassinated SU05, and it was beautiful, so I was happy.
Anyways, I would enjoy this being an option.
I second this. I like to know if I got my -Yoink- handed too me by random people who were really good, or a party of people who go absolutely tryhard and statwhore.
Want to know the most irritating thing about modern multiplayer, and something that Halo 3’s ranked playlists didn’t do? Running lone wolf-style and going up against an entire team of determined players.
Sorry, but it’s not fun. If I play by myself, I want to play with others who are by themselves as well. Same goes for if I’m running with a team.
This feature, of course, requires a healthy population of players, which is why it’s non-existent in shooters like Call of Duty since they have such short release windows between one another. However, Halo’s multiplayer games have a release windows of 2-3 years, and even with Halo 3’s model of “single players against single players, teams against teams”, it was quite easy to find a game due to the flourishing population of players. I really want this feature to return to multiplayer, along with the ranked and social separation of playlists of course.
I agree. There’s nothing more frustrating than being utterly destroyed, without knowing if the other team is working together, or you’re just doing terribly on your own. I’d like to see that option return so I could at least prepare to get crushed.
