Okay, so now that we know that the 1-50 ranking system may not return, I just wanna say something. 343 don’t you dare do the back of the baseball card ranking system Reach had because that was the most stupid thing Bungie has ever thought of. As long as it’s balanced, competitive and does not promote boosting, I’m happy.
The more threads i read about ranking, the more i think people only like ranks as a vehicle and means to look down upon and denigrate others.
Which is why they dont like player investment ‘ranks’ because anyone can get them.
343i should by no means kowtow to this mentality, and thank god frankie seems to know it.
1-50 in the past was broken. Frankie even said it to some extent. We don’t need it and there are plenty of other systems that will work better.

I agree with this as well. I chose not to play Arena and I get looked down on as a Halo player just because I haven’t logged a division in it.

YAY! No more baseball cards!
And one more thing, I kind of like the BPR, it takes in all stats, not just stuff in certain playlists. Kind of like your general effectiveness as a teamate and a player.

lol. It’s more sad for those who actually care about Arena than for you not playing it. I did the same. Oh well if they need that to keep their self-esteem up why not…

I’m stuck at 100 BPR 
I don’t know how accurate it is to some point. But when it comes to skill gap between me and my friend it is totally accurate which is nice.

Actually showing BPR in a players service tag would be a good idea. Have the raanking system like it is in Reach but have better TrueSkill matching based on your BPR and K/D. This would be somewhat like halo 3 where if you view someone else’s service record you can see their rank and how much skill they have(BPR in the new ranking system). Only BPR would in no way be associated with rank, just TrueSkill matching and bragging rights.

if you’re already coming in with these kinds of opinions, and demand not to be dissapointed…you’re bound to inevitably be dissapointed because you’re already taking the stance that the game will dissapoint/suck.
Besides: 1-50 isn’t that important. And if you’re definition of having fun in Halo means getting a higher level, instead of enjoying the game for what it is (in typical complainer’s fashion I’d like to call the 1-50 system gimmicky compared to what really defines the game) that says a lot about your “fan-being”.

That’s great to hear. I also hope it’s not a variation of it. Some kind of permanent ranking system is needed to keep players playing ranked.

No, people like ranks because it matches you up co-ordinately with the same skilled player, gives you something to work for and keeps the players coming back.
