I was really looking forward to playing campaign on Co-op and delving into Forge as soon as possible, and much like you, I got my heart broken.
I also understand the concerns over what the game will launch like? What modes will we actually get on day one? What features?
As long as the core foundation of the game is ready to go, I say release it and trickle that good stuff in when it is ready. Or else we may see a very, VERY long wait for release.
Everyone who wants the game delayed is in the mentality of "I’m not getting what I want, so I don’t want others to get anything at all"
If you really REALLY want to have your first experience playing campaign be co-op… then just wait the 3 months until its ready by playing multiplayer? I don’t get it!
I want this game to be successful and I am with the decision of ‘release core game, add features when they are ready’. It makes sense, it’s how the game will stay interesting for a long time.
You fail to realize that there is a very large contingent of Halo fans that will want to play the campaign for the first time with someone else, like a family member or friend. Making us wait for three months to experience the campaign will set us up for spoilers. And before you say it, no the solution is not “Just avoid the spoilers.” It’s THREE months. Spoilers are inevitable.
In short, delay the game so we can all play the campaign at the same time and minimize potential spoilers.
I am of the mind that if the game is playable, then release it. Holding it because forge and co-op isn’t readily available as soon as it releases is just holding up all the people who could play it by themselves. And while I understand that there are people who want to jump into it with a friend (I personally have a friend who wants to play it with me), we shouldn’t be holding it back just because people can’t play it with friends when the issue isn’t game breaking.

this 100%. COOP is integral to my halo experience, and when I saw the announcement today, my first thought was “I just won’t download it until they add it.” But then I realized that will put me in a situation where I miss everything from the first multiplayer season(or more if coop delays.)
The current idea I have would be to release the multiplayer in November to still commemorate the 20th anniversary, but hold off on campaign until everything is ready. The concept of a game not having all ‘base’ features at launch is such a strange idea. Back in the day, ‘pre’ seasons era or ‘live game’ era, if you bought a game there was no adding ‘ base’ features later. This wouldn’t ever be considered, and if I had to guess, people just simply wouldn’t buy, a not full game, until it was full with all base features.
With multiplayer being free to play anyway there wouldn’t be direct profit losses. Playing the multiplayer might even hype people up even more for campaign. And if you have campaign Co-op flights, people would at least get a taste of the campaign along the way.
Now what I imagine, is that the absolute best time to sell a game is during the ‘Christmas’ holiday season so I’m thinking this is a big factor with why they are pushing for release now. However they might end up short changing themselves anyway with people not buying the game until they can Co-op play or Forge. Especially if that’s why they play the game in the first place. There are whole demographics that they would miss by not launching with these features.
So why not launch for Summer 2022? I imagine that games are most played during the summer anyway so sales would have to be pretty close if not match Christmas season sales.
My idea in a nutshell: Release Free to Play this November, Flight Co-op and Forge before releasing the game to give the community a taste, and release the game correctly and in Full for Summer 2022
Spoilers are already coming to light and the game ain’t even released… more delays and I won’t be surprised if the ending of infinite is shown by the media.
It really is as simple as “Don’t look at Halo Infinite info if you don’t want it to be spoiled.”
If you see an article about Halo Infinite, have some self control and don’t look at it.
If you can’t do that or feel like you can’t, then I’m sorry for you.
Y’all really take opinions you disagree with too personally.

Did you miss the part where I said I was looking forward to playing Co-op with my friend at launch for the campaign? We are deciding whether or not we are going in solo first time through or not now.
If we are going to wait, then we’ll just not look at Halo Infinite articles. There’s probably going to be some glances, but I doubt anything meaningful.

this is exactly my point. Like I said, everyone that wants the game delayed is pretty much saying “If I can’t have what I want, then no one else should have it at all”

It’s like I insulted your family honor or something lol
You could have just said “I disagree, I personally would prefer the game launches with Co-op.”
but no, you have to be a blockhead

Do we really think Microsoft doesn’t have the money to get coop in? Im serious, I get it, but its not launching cause they need your money to finish coop lmao.

lol I hope this isn’t true, I’d like to think they’re being honest and not including it because it’s truly not ready.

It definitely isn’t true, people just overreacting. Its covid. How many games been delayed. This is the new normal. From schools to everything in life… Making a game in this environment is hard. Especially a halo that has so much things people expect. Where is tlou 2 multiplayer they promised. Its hard doing forge, coop, open world single player, theater etc. Thats a lot. N I know people will say they did it before. Well people used to make games in 3 years time too before. Everything is bigger now. Takes more time

YES SPOILERS, this is a fact many are missing right now. People are already avoiding news/info on the game because of this already. How many people are gonna get the game only to be greeted with utter disappointment?
Fact of the matter is, Halo Infinite can thrive at launch without Co Op campaign or Forge.
The games success isn’t solely dependent on those features like many believe.
Let’s be glad the game is coming this year, even if that means some sacrifices have to be made for the time being due to last year’s troubles for every game development studio.
Halo Infinite is a live service game, things get added over time. In this case that’s also including some features to gameplay. Same probably is true for Ray Tracing too but there’s no calls for a delay over that.
I think it’s been blown out of proportion so much it’s ridiculous. Whilst everyone is excited for Halo Infinite, holding up on a pedestal before its even launched is it wise. Setting a unachievable expectation will lead to disappointment.
Everyone who wants the game delayed is in the mentality of "I’m not getting what I want, so I don’t want others to get anything at all"
PREACH, if they were delaying MP, then delay the entire game, but I can live without forge and Co-op for a little bit. I just want to play Infinite already.

Somebody above was suggesting they release multiplayer this fall and campaign with forge and co-op when everything else is ready. What do you think of this?

This is the best middle-ground solution
Jesus, what fresh hell did I get linked to…
Anyways…sup, I’m the buddy my friend here me mentioned in wanting to do co-op. Just gonna say my piece and go because I am tired and honestly don’t care much to engage in squabbling. I ask you please be understanding and open minded. If you feel you have to retort at my statements and opinions then you are failing to see the points I make
It sucks that forge and co-op are not gonna be included on launch, that’s a given. Does it make sense to delay the game so they are added? Debatable but no, the devs said it as best as they can but could’ve phrased it better.
The game will be around for a life of ten years, constantly growing and changing. The campaign is about the master chief and putting each person that plays in “his” shoes and making it an adventure for each player to take that personal journey with.
The devs are hard at work and have cleaned house multiple times because incase a lot of you forgot, the last creative director didn’t even get this game at a retail ready state prior to his announcement of his stepping down. It didn’t help either that they had to develop the game with all the restrictions due to the pandemic. So they had a lot of setbacks but managed to give us this very beautiful game that will be coming HOLIDAY 2021.(peeved by lack of no official release date and if Collector edition is a thing)
But for some, this doesn’t justify the end result. You’d rather buy the game 3 months later when co-op is available but don’t want to miss out and have to avoid spoilers that may get to you anyways… To that, you have a hard choice and I get it. I was the same way to when I played every halo game with my brother on midnight launch and would play the entirety of the campaign till the sun rose. I haven’t been able to do that for a long time because we got older and Halo 5’s lack of splits screen ended that tradition but both of us agreed that it was better that way because 5 campaign was not fun. I solo legendary that game and ima be honest in the voice of the Simpson’s comic book guy “Worst gameplay for a halo campaign Ever”.
This all said, I have faith and hope that 343 is able to turn their losing streak around and present us the best halo game. Infinite is designed to be a game that will always be there and can be enjoyed without missing out on anything important.
I know everyone isn’t gonna be the same and honestly that’s good that you’re able to enjoy the games and co-ops differently because it makes your experiences unique, but please be realistic and understanding that not everyone can have the same opportunities to enjoy anything in life the same as you or the next because that is how life is for everyone and we all need that good fix of Halo whether its multi-player or campaign.
The story is meant to be enjoyed by everyone and if you feel it is necessary to wait for co-op, that’s your choice but don’t assume youe friends will wait that long. I already told Anvil I ain’t waiting 3 months for to do my first playthrough because I love the story and games too much to wait.
So TL;DR: stop your fussing, get over it, either wait and be patient or play the damn game and enjoy it with friends later on because you are gonna have this game for the next 10 years and you ain’t gonna be missing out on anything because devs designed Halo infinite to be enjoyed at your leisure.

And before you say it, no the solution is not “just avoid the spoilers” It’s THREE months after numerous other flights containing even MORE campaign spoilers. Spoilers are inevitable.
In short, delaying the game is not a fair option, as more spoilers will be out in the wild that we will all have to dodge for 6+ months, and not just the current 3.
Also, I reused your comment because it actually worked perfectly if reversed to show that there are always 2 sides to every argument. But please, this game does not need delayed again.
Are spoilers inevitable because people can’t stop themselves from scouring every halo post they see? I honestly don’t understand why people so dedicated to a franchise and avoiding spoilers can’t just ease up on gaming news and forums for three months.
