I strongly disagree with all the people saying that Halo Infinite should be cancelled on the Xbox One, I am not going to buy another console just to play one game. I bought my Xbox one a few years ago and it works perfectly. You should not keep halo games from fans by making it only available on this new console. The halo games still look amazing on the Xbox one. Hell, they even looked amazing on the Xbox 360. With the time they have it should still look and play as amazing as it always has especially with all the time it has had and will have. I really want to play Halo Infinite when it comes out and by cancelling this incredible game on the Xbox one, you will be preventing many people (Including myself) from enjoying the newest addition to the halo franchise. Some people don’t have £500 - £600 to buy a new console and then an additional £60 to buy the game. I have been a halo fan since the beginning and I don’t want my fight to finish here. I know I’m going to get a lot of hate for this but it’s worth it. Please do not do this. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL HALO INFINITE ON THE XBOX ONE!!!

I replied to you in another thread, but regarding your last point, you can buy a Series S, which will be a lot cheaper and with GamePass you don’t have to pay 60 to play the game, you could pay only $10 or $15 one month to play the campaign and then stop paying while you enjoy the Free Multiplayer
While I could save a considerable amount of money from buying an Xbox Series S and purchasing a one month game pass. It would still cost me around £210 - £315 in total which is still something I am not willing to pay. Why would I pay good money anyway when I already have a good and very capable console. I can not afford to waste my money.
It is a rumor?, or where can I read more about the possible cancellation on xbox one?
I just have the xbox one for halo 5, so it will be the same for me, just buy the new console for halo infinite.

The thing is, the Xbox One is not a very capable console, not even when it released, for you it is new, sure and works well, but it is in fact a very underpowered piece of hardware that makes developers spend a lot of time optimizing things so their games work “okay” in it. I’ve had my Xbox One for 6+ years, and believe me it shows how outdated the hardware is, and every update Microsoft releases makes it slower.
Given this, 343i needing to develop Halo Infinite so it both, lasts and stays relevant for at least 10 years and also works in an optimal way in 7 year old (17 year old if they keep the 10 year promise) hardware is an enormous task that has already shown really noticeable pitfalls.
I don’t want a Halo game for the next 10 years that only has new things to offer for the next year or two after release because it has to keep working on extremely old and inefficient hardware.

I second this. The Xbox One version must be dropped to fully maximize and utilize the full potential of the game. It’s vital for the well being of Halo in the long run.
If money is an issue, then know that a console generation lasts 7-8 years. That’s more than enough time to find a job, work, and earn enough money to buy the console. There is no need to rush.
I agree that it should not be entirely cancelled for xbox one, but since it is a next gen game they need to make it up to par for next gen. The demo did not look like next gen. It even looked a little lacking for current gen. For older consoles, they need a specific game update thing that helps it run well on those, and then on new consoles it needs to look good and run well.
343 needs to not hold back for OG xbox one, tho, unless the series x optimization update just blows us all away with how good one update could make it look and run.

Because the Xbox One and Ps4 were outdated when they came out 7 years ago. It’s not hard to believe that a 7 year old pc could not run next gen games properly, so why is that so hard to believe with these consoles? They’re basically just stripped down PCs. So “good and very capable” are not words I would use to describe the Xbox One at all, especially compared to the powerhouse that is the Series X. I’ve only recently changed my standing on this, but I do believe that the older version of the game may very well bring it down. But if they only put the MP on the Xbox One and not the campaign, like what Black Ops 3 did with the 360/ps3, I think that would work out okay.

The same way you had to buy a 360 for Halo 3 and 4? And a One for Halo 5.
OP, you need to realize that a big reason you see any sort of cross gen games is because they release on the fringe of the console generation. Now that Infinite has been delayed there’s not a need to have it cross gen IMO since the console will have been out for a year.
Otherwise you could make your argument for literally every game. At some point old hardware reaches an EOL and because the One was very average at best at release, it’s probably going to be sunset very quickly. Hell, they’ve stopped producing them already. Time for you to buck up and spend cash. At some point at least. Or take your money elsewhere.
series S then?? Having an xbox one as the lowest denominator for optimization is a mistake, and it should be cancelled. The base Xbone can be used to stream the game via Xcloud, but it should never run natively on the system. The lowest denominator should be a mid/high end PC (aka something like the Series S), not a 2011 tablet CPU with DDR3 ram
If it does get canceled on Xbox one I know people who just won’t pick up the game at all. I don’t think I will be getting a series x and my pc will be too outdated by the time infinite releases, so I hope this is just a rumor.
Agree, don’t cancel it.
A lot of Xbox Ones out there were bought with Halo in mind, and this current gen has only gotten one new Halo fps so far, which is unusual
The VCR is just so weak hardware wise. The bigger issues is the weak cpu, anemic ram, and Snail Slow Hard Drive. The difference between the Hard drive and the ssd in the series X is staggering. I’m not a game developer by any means but it cant be easy making a game for 2012 Hardware and 2020 hardware. At the end of the day the game itself should be the best it can be. To limit it in anyway for 1 outdated device just doesn’t make sense, especially when that device will be abandoned as people upgrade to Series X, S and/or PC. To anyone that thinks the xbox one version should not be cancelled, how long is the xbox one going to stay running? That console will be forgotten 3 years from now while the x and s will be in their prime. Yes it sucks to have to buy new hardware but it’s how the industry goes. Maybe the one can be used to stream the game?
If the rumoured $599 price tag is more than just a rumour for the Xbox Series X, then Halo: Infinite should definitely be made available for the Xbox One.
Are you also one of the people that kept wanting the MCC to be on the 360? The game is seriously held back by being stuck on 7 year old console hardware. If you don’t want to buy a whole new system to play Halo then just get it on the PC.
Erm no .
Get over it .
A next gen game should not be compatable. Last gen games however should be compatible on new hardware so we can still play the games we love .
It’s been 7 years.

No it’s been a thing that several individuals on here have been saying should happen but they don’t seem to get that with how the pandemic is going not everyone will be able to afford a new console.
Most people just don’t seem to realize that with how impactful the pandemic has been on people economically not everyone is going to be able to afford the new console especially at its rumored price. And each time others have tried to tell this to people who think the Xbox one should be abandoned treat them poorly as if this is some elitist thing. It’s awful and shouldn’t be allowed.
I think its probably here to stay however, i think it makes the series x less of a valuable purchase.
