Do not bring back the BR

> BR should be in Halo 4, period.

Hopefully, I mean, nearly everyone loved the BR compared to the DMR. If the fans want it, I feel we should at least have the gun for customs if not mp.

MLG in Reach uses no bloom, yet it still fails to offer exciting gameplay, supporting my claim that a single-shot weapon is just plain bad, bloom or not.

If we could disable magnetism and such, then yeah it’d be superior. But we can’t in a reasonable online environment, at least with the current tech.

grenades, lack of a set ROF, sprint…

no wait I’m sorry, its all because the DMR does not burst fire.

Have you played the current MLG? ZBNS (Zero Bloom No Sprint) gets voted 99.9% of the time. There’s two problems gone - grenades and sprint. So the sole reason the DMR does not provide interesting gameplay is because it “lacks a set ROF”?

CoooooooooooP the spread was perfect… tell me what was wrong with it. Me and others have posted pages explaining why. Please explain don’t just say no…

i just have a hard time believing the amount of bullets that DMR fires is the only thing making the gameplay unappealing.
and i really cant imagine no grenades at all being a good thing.

but i really cant talk as I’m obviously not up to date with the times.

One reason the burst was more exciting to watch was players could switch shooting from player to player more quickly. For example: would you rather see a player get a triple kill with a single burst in swat in halo 3 or watch a player take the time to shoot three players one after the other in reach.

WHATTTTTTTTT!!!

Halo 2’s auto aim and bullet magnetism was BY FARRRRRRR the most in ANY Halo game… You serious? Halo 2 was a baby’s game…

Yet it had ridiculous movement speed - faster than in any Halo, as well as the fastest movement acceleration. These two things alone combated the magnetism. Getting a headshot was easy (but so is it in any other Halo) - the hard part is consistently staying on-target with the fast paced movement coupled with burst shot.

Burst promotes consistent aiming. You can’t twitch around and hope for a headshot with burst. You have to stay on-target for the entire duration.

I want the br back some thing like the dmr was never meant to be in halo.

No way man… Just watch this video, clearly you’re mistaken ;\

Can I say, Reach noooobs? j/k BR For the Fricken WIN!! So yeah, I disagree.

Seen it. It doesn’t contradict my points; I acknowledge the ridiculous amount of magnetism and such. That video fails to acknowledge the fact that Halo 2 made up for those changes by having extremely fast movement. Halo 2 movement speed is like Halo CE’s on crack.

And imagine if Halo 2 had single shot - imagine how much easier it would have been. Massive magnetism and auto-aim with no requirements of consistency. Oh god, that’d suck.

You’re making it seem like it was LIGHT YEARS faster than Halo 1 lol… Halo 2 was a slower paced game than Halo 1 in terms of gameplay AND killtimes. Maybeeeee the running speeds were a tad faster, but Halo 1 still felt faster.

Does this really seem like blazing speeds to you? -> Nope.

It is much faster, especially in terms of acceleration. The pace and kill times are irrelevant - my only point is that a faster movement speed and acceleration cancels out a lot of the magnetism.

You also have to take into consideration that an online Halo game will never be as competitively suited as Halo CE, as Halo CE only functions properly in an offline environment.

> You’re making it seem like it was LIGHT YEARS faster than Halo 1 lol… Halo 2 was a slower paced game than Halo 1 in terms of gameplay AND killtimes. Maybeeeee the running speeds were a tad faster, but Halo 1 still felt faster.

Hahaha did you ever play halo 1 or 2 for that matter? Doesn’t seem like you did, because halo 2s gameplay and killtimes WERE lightspeeds ahead of CE… Look.

Halo2montage

HaloCEmontage

You can safely assume the killtime would be more extreme by the sheer fact that they integrated more multikill medals…

I must disagree. BR has been a part of the main storyline in the two latest games, beside Reach, so I can’t see why it would be omitted. Also, the BR was more fun to use.

NBNS MLG is great. You’re such a jaded halo hipster. Your opinion means nothing because there’s no logic to it. You just say lol reach no matter what because you think it places you in with the good players.

> > Flash back to Halo 2 and the Spread was so precise, it was like firing two back to back shots from a DMR (Something several skilled players practice, as it barely affects your accuracy).

Exactly. Pre patch H2 BR was burst fire and it was -Yoink-. Post patch it essentially functioned as a single shot weapon and it was incredible.

lolwut

Do you not realise Bungie had to essentially outlaw discussion of the H3 BR spread on their forums because the entire Halo 3 forum consisted of BR spread complaint threads for about the first 8 months after the game launched?

What’s wrong with it? It was random as hell and slowed the game down. It was bloom light. Individually tracked bullets on a weak peer to peer hosting system with high RNG. Trainwreck.

When you go from the HCE pistol(single shot) and H2 BR post patch(essentially single shot) and then move onto the train wreck that was the H3 BR(burst)…
