I’d prefer a BR. 3-round burst is more fun to use and it adds more to the sci-fi feel than the DMR which feels primitive.
I loved the BR. I want the BR back. But I guess the most people disagree with me.
I hated the DMR. Absolutely hated it. The BR felt powerful, accurate, and useful. Removing it was like removing the AR from Halo 2.
If you don’t want the br then your horrible
I want a 2-shot BR.

Jibberish. Utter poppycock.
The CE pistol is hardly overpowered, and nohow imbalanced. It is effective at most ranges and it can most certainly beat most weapons at some ranges, but then again it is the main utility weapon and you are meant to be able to defend yourself off spawn. I don’t know how much you know about dynamic and fun gameplay, but I still find it peculiar how you’re suggesting it’d be better if people were left defenseleft and exposed to the team controlling the power weapons.
There is absolutely no way a DMR would continously beat a sniper at long range for as long as the sniper has at least a decent grasp of how to use a sniper rifle. the difference in kill times is too tremenduos.
Same concept applies to the rocks and GL.
And what do you mean “It didn’t give inexperienced players a chance”? I reckon they’d just the same possibilty of shooting three shots in the head of the opponent and killing him. It’s meant to be competitive and whoever shoots the best wins. And there should be no changing that.
BR would be perfect with hit-scan.
The DMR will not appear in Halo 4 (thank god). It is an out-dated, single shot rifle with average power and a pitiful 15 round magazine.
The BR55 Battle Rifle is a burst fire rifle with respectable power and a 36 round magazine.
Which one is better, I wonder. -_-
Not only that but the Battle Rifle is kinda preferred in the community compared to the DMR. Don’t get me wrong, I want to see a whole plethora of new weapons in Halo 4, but the BR will return I believe.

The BR fires 3-round bursts. The DMR is single-shot. Therefore the DMR actually has a better clip, and requires less bullets to kill.
Not saying I don’t ant the BR back, I’m saying your logic is pitiful.

Good job Sally-Anne, but I’m afraid you just whoopsy-daisied.
You see, the DMR may have 15 shots per mag and the BR has 12 bursts per mag, but (and here it comes, Sally, buckle up) the DMR takes 5 shots to kill a MJOLNIR Mk. V Spartan-III. The BR takes four bursts to kill a MJOLNIR Mk. VI Spartan-II.
What does that mean, Sally?
It means that the BR’s burst is more powerful than the DMR’s shot. It’s likely that because the MJOLNIR Mk. V has less powerful shields and armour than the Mk. VI, that the BR could kill a Mk. V Spartan in three bursts.
Sorry Sally. Looks like it’s your logic that is “pitiful”.
H2 BR with less aim assist and smaller hot boxes, sidearm single-shot pistol, and a long-range DMR like weapons would be the best precision weapon line-up I feel. Who knows we may get weapons with two firing modes though(Like the h2 beta BR with burst and single-shot capabilities) so it would be super epic if that happened =)
THIS IS MADNESS!
I hope that they do bring back the BR because they could do some stuff to balance it better and also with the BR bullet spread it limits your range a bit so that you can’t cross map someone with it like you can with a single shot utility weapon.
> The dmr takes a lot away from accuracy, The BR makes a lot more sense in a game like halo.
> Br ftw
UM, that’s not right.
DMR: Semi auto fire
BR: Burst fire
when it comes to accuracy, DMR>BR, when you want accuracy, you want semi auto fire, not burst, burst is a wast of ammo.

> Well they could probably keep the BR while making it single shot, or put in a new medium-long ranged weapon.

> But yes, I agree, single shot is far better than burst shot. Less randomness and more damage when you aim properly, yet isn’t as effective in close combat as a burst. All good things if you ask me.
They are both the same at close range if you equal the time it takes to drop shields.
There should still be a 3-shot burst rifle, for veriety’s sake.
I can’t belive what you guys are talking about.
The BR was and is always better and more powerfull in close combats and it is and was weak at long distances, because the bullets have to fly. The weapon is perfectly balanced.
The DMR is really bad, because when you aim on someone you hit him every time, if your crosshair is red, because of hit-scan. Therefore the DMR can easily take out people which are a hundred of meters away.
The DMR isn’t a realistic weapon, because bullets are not flying like light speed.
I’m for the BR and it will happen, because Masterchief will find weapons in the hangar, like Frank said. It would be weird if he doesn’t find a BR, but a DMR.

When did Frank say that?
I want a single shot BR. Much of my ammo depletion was from headshotting Grunts and Jackals. The Ark is a fine example of BR ammo famine. In most cases, I only needed 1 bullet, not 3.
The BR ate up ammo like crazy. Personally, I’m not all that good with it, but I think it should return in Halo 4.
