Do not bring back the BR

The DMR? No. Don’t fault the DMR for the bloom’s problems man… Halo had a DMR in Halo 1… It was skinned as a PISTOL!

> I very much disagree with this suggestion.

> First and foremost, the Br is a staple of Halo gameplay. I’ve come to love the thing. The burst function with a touch of spread (in h4, spread should be more predictable than the one bullet firing somewhere outrageous) is excellent and promotes continuing consistency while aiming. With a one shot weapon, it is sweep and shoot. Simple enough. With the Br, it was sweep, shoot, and maintain. You had to continue to aim at the head throughout the entire burst.
>
> From this perspective, I much prefer the BR. The burst function also plays a role in keeping the sniper in check. In Reach, I found sniping to be too easy due to the bloom and the lack of constant fire. There is a predictable pause and one could very easily predict when they’d be forced out of scope. This allowed the sniper to be more dominant in Reach. With the BR, the burst allows for more chances to survive and de-scope enemy snipers, which I found to be better for gameplay.
>
> Lastly, along with the BR, I’d like to see the carbine stay in its current form with the capability to be used as a starting weapon. I’d also like another weapon (preferable not a rifle), which plays a role in the same niche as the BR or carbine (perhaps a support weapon of sorts, the sentinal beam and beam rifle in reach fit this to some degree). The magnum should also be included, but with very minor differences from it’s state in Halo 3. A 2x scope and reduced spread would be awesome as a another starting weapon alternative.

Holy friggin crap, its so simple! Why hasnt this been done yet?!

Every time there is a poll about what weapon should be in H4 (DMR vs BR)the BR always wins by a mile. The fans who prefer the BR weigh heavily over the fans who want the DMR. Also Master Chief prefers his trusty BR over the stupid boring DMR.

I don’t understand u people lots say Halo 2 and 3 was the best halo game and now your saying you don’t want the BR in Halo 4 and now u want a single shot weapon but u say u hated halo Reach (even though that’s not what people really hated it for).

hell DMR is garbage, BR has to be back, can you imagine MC with a DMR? how ugly it would look.

Nobody has said anything about the DMR.

What? You’re considering the less-than-100-people who voted on said poll is the entire Halo fanbase? Come on…

The fans are nostalgic and that’s it. The BR is worthless and better NOT be the only rifle the humans have.

BR was the most balanced Halo accuracy weapon to date. Why not bring it back? The pistol is OP, the DMR is Under powered - why not take the best and use it?

Makes no sense to me… I prefer the burst weapon where you are forced to stay on target during the quick 3 round burst. Takes more skill IMO

Sounds good to me but they should make it more like the early Halo 2 BR not like the DMR…

Hell no to your quote, and to your own statement, the fact that it’s been in two games now as the main weapon everybody uses and the need for originality overpowers what the fans may want.

It’s a little thing called “redundant and and boring” if the Battle Rifle returns just so everybody can use it, and nothing else.

Again, we will not be seeing the Battle Rifle in Halo 4. Use your heads.

NO…do you know why reach was such a disapointment!!!

> NO…do you know why reach was such a disapointment!!!

Yes. Because of inconsistent core gameplay, underpowered weapons, slow-paced combat, etc.

That’s why.

WTF!? You must be talking about Halo 3 because only in Halo 1 have all the weapons been this much useful in their own respect…

Halo 3 is the game you’re talking about.

I just can’t stand to use the DMR, although it’s a good weapon to use from far-range.
If 343i don’t bring the BR back, at least bring the carbine back. One of those two and I’ll be satisfied.

Though, if both are brought back, Halo 4 will be an instant win in my book.

I think you’re the one that needs to use their head. BR was a part of the canon. It was in H2, H3 and now H4. Same character, same storyline. DMR was in Reach, a spin-off game, with different characters, at a different place and different time. Do you think the DMR will mystically appear out of nowhere? The BR is superior, and WILL be replacing the DMR as the utility weapon once more.

The dmr takes a lot away from accuracy, The BR makes a lot more sense in a game like halo.
